Has anyone seen this movie.

I give it a Good movie rating I mean it has a different vibe to it than most gang movies....instead of following the gangs most of the time you find the cops (I think it was That Hopper guy or Penn don't know) becoming more and more corrupted which is pretty cool to see once in a while.

ooo i think i caught a glimpse of that the other day.
i remember sean penn handcuffing a guy, and this guy's like " i didnt do anything". and sean penn punches him, and the other cop gets pissed off with him.

The one thing that was wierd was that the cops were called "pac-man"(?)

IMO the movie was pretty standard fare for cop movies of the decade, but I live/have lived in the areas in that movie, so it resonates a teeny bit deeper with me. Whats cool is that it doesn't feel dated because all that blood/crip crap is still going on.

One thing I didn't get -- it seemed very blood vs crip, but there were those gang members who wore black colors that killed Don Cheadle (was Rocket his name?) Were they bloods or what? Something like the 22nd street gang.

Oh and they had a social worker, just like the Warriors... \:D/

I hated the damn movie

:x oooooooh, I hate that movie! Sean Penn was good as well as Robert Duvall, but the film itself sucked. Ever since I saw The Warriors, I 've been watching films about gangs, and none of them, I mean none of them can top The Warriors. Not one I've seen has the same MANLY fights as our film. Guns, drive by's, gang signs that look more like they have arthritis on their stupid fingers. Get out of your stupid bouncing car, put the sissy gun away and fight like a MAN, with your fists!!! I've seen West Side Story have more MANLY fights than Colors, The Lords of Flatbush, The Wonderers, Blood In Blood Out and Boulevard Nights, among other ridiculous "films". Even Fight Club dissappointed me, it started alright and then.........well, you know the sucky ending. I think the only good thing that came out from Colors, besides the chick that steps out completely....uh, well you know :D , was the theme song by Ice-T, which is still a good song to this day. ;)

Ice-T's hardcore rap at the end still just can't match up to his work in the Breakin' series...especially Breakin' 2. \:D/

Mr. Rembrandt, you are right about that one. The Breakin' series to me were just to cool! ;)
