Just saw this last night. Think I would have gotten a bigger laugh lighting 10 dollars on fire, but maybe that's just me?
The problem with this movie is that it is really just a bunch of sight gags strewn together with no real semblence of a plot. At least the Scary Movie series kept the main plot to just a couple of movies, while throwing in the occassional reference to a few others. This movie seemed to go all over the place.
Eddie Griffin's box office appeal seems to be dropping faster than the temperature here in the big apple the last few days. After his last pile of crap, "Duece Bigalow: European Gigalo" & now this I think he'll be going direct to video pretty soon. He plays the father in what I guess was supposed to be a spoof of "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" (get it - he's black, but he's playing a Greek. Isn't that hysterical
).
Other movies spoofed are Meet The Parents, Meet The Fockers, Bridget Jones Diary, The Wedding Planner, My Best Friend's Wedding, When Harry Met Sally, Hatch, The TV show The Bachelor, Shallow Hal, Kill Bill, Lord Of The Rings, King Kong, and the list goes on & on.
You'd think that with all this material, the movie would have been a whole lot better. I say save your money & rent the DVD when it comes out if you must see it.
