Stephen King: Short Stories Into Movies

I have always been a fan of Stephen King. I have noticed however that the full length novels he's written that get turned into movies usually suck (with a few exceptions like "The Stand"), while the short stories that get the movie treatment are much better. Maybe it has to do with it being easier to stretch a good story out than cut one down, I don't know.

Anyway, I came up with a list for anyone who is interested. I'll list the name of the movie, what book it came from, and the name of the story if it was changed. If I leave anything out, please feel free to add. Here goes:

Children Of The Corn - Night Shift

Maximum Overdrive - (Trucks)  Night Shift

Silver Bullet - (Cycle Of The Werewolf)  Printed in a magazine, later became a novella

Stand By Me - (The Body)  Different Seasons

Shawshank Redemption -   Different Seasons

Apt Pupil -   Different Seasons

Hearts In Atlantis -   Hearts In Atlantis

The Night Flier -   Nightmares & Dreamscapes

The Langoliers -   Four Past Midnight

Riding The Bullet -   Everything's Eventual

Graveyard Shift -   Night Shift

Sometimes They Come Back -   Night Shift

The Mangler -   Night Shift

Secret Window - (Secret Window,Secret Garden)  Four Past Midnight

The Crate - (This was one of the stories in the movie Creepshow)  Fantasy Annual III

The Raft - (This was one of the stories in the movie Creepshow 2)  Skeleton Crew

Quitter's Inc. - (This was one of the stories in the movie Cat's Eye)  Night Shift

The Ledge - (This was one of the stories in the movie Cat's Eye)  Night Shift

Chattery Teeth - (This was one of the stories in the TV show Quicksilver Highway)  Nightmares & Dreamscapes

wow
Shawshank is a "short" story?
I love this movie! and that says a lot about the director, and the writer who made the adaptation.

Yup, only about 15-20 pages long.
