I don't know if anybody would be interested in this but have any of you seen the 1970 documentary? It was on yesterday and again today. I recorded it today. It's a great movie. Talking about the preparations of the festival, people's views on the whole thing, select performances, disaster, and the aftermath. A lot of older people who lived in town who asked questions about the festival, said tehy were glad to see kids having fun and enjoying music, while others were simply implying that each and every single one was on pot. Some insisted that was the only reason it was organized...to get a bunch of 14-30 year old people high. Wrong, good sir. There have been three more Woodstocks, (1979, 1994, and 1999) But none of them were as unique and memorable as the first one. I'll tell ya this. Watching that has made me want to buy some Santana and some Ten Years After. I searched for Santana, and I'm getting their debut album tomorrow, but its a remastered edition with a second CD with demos and live tracks from Woodstock and one more place. The drummer was great. He was the youngest musician to perform at Woodstock. He was only 20. He did a drum solo that blew me away. Alvin Lee of Ten Years After is one of the most underrated and underappreciated guitarist ever. His work on A Space In Time is great. Ok, I'm done. Any comments?

Think I got that on vcr? at a garage sale this spring and still hav'nt watched it. Will have to dig it out.

Love to see you young guys likin this old stuff. Can picture me hearing Santana for the first time in my GTO around the end of 69 (Black magic woman) and have loved em since. Hendrix, Joplin, Jefferson Airplane etc lot of special stuff was there.

10 years after Space in time and Cricklewood green are two of my fav albums of all time. Goin home and Inside lookin out live are so good. Your right Lee is underated but we know better.

Ha! I didn't know you were that old! I saw your profile. One year older than my mom. But yeah, I love old music. I hate new music. Oldies is where its at. I thought Black Magic Woman was later like after Woodstock. Ahhh, Soul Sacrifice is what won me over. Just that one song from the movie, and I am amazed. Can't wait to get the CD.

Yup, I saw it in high school during woodshop.  Our shop teacher was sick for 3 days and our substitute teacher allowed us to watch this (vhs)......years ago by the way!

Late 80's,  we didn't care about the nudity, we just wanted to see the bands,  or at least I did.

I always found myself to be trapped in the 60's and 70's.  I don't know why, I guess it was that whole generation gap, and the struggle as human beings to make a change, and a revolution.  People were braking down barriers, and opening their minds to a great possibility, of the future.  I guess thats why I am so obssessed.
