Children of Men
Children of Men
I just got back from seeing it. It really makes you wonder if our world will seep into a dark abyss of hell. Its unfortunate, and hard to admit, but its true. I believe that until we as human beings, get our acts together, god will hold off fertilization because why should we bring innocent creatures in a world of misery, madness, and decay. I believe that with every horrific act, of evil, there is a small amount of hope and light, to bring us back to salvation. Thats only if we allow it. What does everyone else think? I hope this message of a more purified earth, and universe can come in some form or another. Who knows?

I hope you like it. I think you will. Especially on the issue of how individual cultures are treated in the future. IMDB.com has some nice posts on this movie, and the issues we face today that will become bigger for our children in the future.

Re: Children of Men
Well, I just saw it and I'm amazed. The way people were just shot like that, then no one even cared.
*Spoilers*
Do you think that they got to the boat at the end? I hate ambiguos endings but, I think they made it. There was the whole world's hope in that little baby. That one baby united the world for that brief second. I belive that they made it to a safe place.
It's just amazing to think that could quite possibly be the future and that we might be there to live it.

Re: Children of Men
I most definatly believe that she got to the boat. The boat represented salvation that preserves the goodness of people, such as Kee and her baby. Theo is the sacrifice that represents the hope and struggle to get to the promise land. I mean the way Kee was humming that song to herself while the boat came, made me feel a sense of peace and comfort that everything will be alright. It is amazing that this small symbol of that baby can purify the hearts of all human kind. I believe that we already live in this future, its just a matter of time before it expands. Every generation has misery, despair, hatred, and turmoil, its just that we need a constant symbol that puts us back on track. Its unfortunate that we have to be reminded, but like I said, with every sense of darkness and, evil, sheds a light of enlightenment, and goodness.

Re: Children of Men
well it is a little complex, I guess you have to think outside the box on these types of movies, and see what the true moral of the story is.
