OK why this had to be remade is beyond me. Rob Zombie is directing it. and Malcolm McDowell of A Clockwork Orange fame is playing Dr Loomis. any thoughts?

Awful. Zombie's movies are not scary at all. No need to remake this classic. What says you, CFK???

yeah I also heard about that. You see the original director was from Marocco, and him and his daughter were killed in a terrorist attack over there. So unfortunatly the original director that we all admired cannot do it. There was also a rumor, that they wanted to make it, as Micheal vs Pin Head, from Hell raiser just like Jason vs Freddy, but they dropped that idea. Knowing Rob Zombie, he will probably make it real perverted and disscusting.

Moustapha Akhad was like the producer not the director. John Carpenter of Bowling Green Kentucky was the Director

Yeah, its like "here we go again, yet another 70's horror remake

", but where can they go with the halloween franchise. Theyve messed about too much with michaels background. He's gone from being a phychotic child, homicidal mental patient, to being some indestructable occult hit-man.
The last two films spoiled the previous sequals. What was the point of bringing back jamie lee curtis? She was suppossed to be dead. How big a plot hole is it that she went into hiding and didnt give any mention about having a daughter.
Ex wrestler and b movie actor Tyler Mane has been cast as michael myers. He was a stunt double in rob zombies last film. Rob has worked with PJ soles as well, so it wouldnt surprise me if she makes a cameo appearence.
I read a mini series a few years back where the shape had returned to Haddonfield to start killing again. When they pulled the mask off in the last issue, it wasnt michael myers like everyone thought, it was laurie strode. She had become the homicidal mental patient. Thought they could have done something along simular lines with a film sequal, but then i remembered she got killed off in part 8. Then again, she was killed off before so who knows. I'll watch it for the curiousity value but i'll wait for the dvd.

thats right Moustapha Akhad, thanks for correcting me. Its unfortunate that when something is good, it becomes ruined because they never leave it alone. I always thought that there was nothing wrong with one sequal, as long as they back the story line up, but when you go on, and on, its like enough already. It was also dumb how Halloween 3, wasn't even about Micheal Myers, but whole different story, and in part six Micheal Myers niece was kidnapped by a cult a raped. After a while it just gets sad.

I herd that after Halloween 2 every new movie was going to be a differnt story line. But after they made 3 and got a bad reaction they went back to Myers again. Even though it didn't have anything to do with number one, I still love Halloween 3. ::) Now I got the Sliver Shamrock song in my head.

Halloween 3 would have worked better under another name I think. I loved the story, originally the Halloween movies were supposed to go in that direction like an anthology series but the witching season did so bad they decided to bring Michael Myers back

I like Rob Zombie as a film maker. Theres not many people I would prefer to see direct this movie. Of course theres no reason this should be made at all. The whole Halloween mythos is far too well known and enbedded in popular culture for it to ever be truly scary again. To be honest I was surprised that somebody like Zombie would even want to do it. I'm not writing this film off until I see it though as it has more going for it than all the other ill advised horror remakes.

One thing I will say for the remake is that is has a very decent cast. Brad Dourif, Danny Trejo, Ken Foree, Malcolm McDowell, William Forsythe..
