Ralph Bakshi's Streetfight and other flicks

Post by Lion »

Hello boys and girls, I was wondering if any of you out there are Bakshi fans? Well, if you are not that's o.k., because I am, if any of you have not seen any of his flicks maybe you should. I am sure you will enjoy them very much! especially STREETFIGHT(1974). Man you gotta watch this, I wish they would make a special dvd version of this animation, is one of the coolest cartoons out there, it is a mixture of Fat Albert goes Pulp Fiction. This is something I am sure Ajax would watch......other recom's:Bad Boys with Sean Penn(1982) City of God(2002 foreign) . :P

Streetfight

Really?... But you are right, Coonskin is the name. I like this title better, but I guess it was too much to print it. Any of you watch Takeshi's Castle? or as we know it here in the U.S. of Angels, Most Extreme Elimination Challenge (MXC), its funny ain't it?. :D

Oh, I didn't know it was called Streetfight as well. Don't be afraid to print the original title, you're not being racist, the whole film is anti-racist, it tackles racial stereotypes. And yeah, I watch Takeshi's Castle alot, what's your favourite round? Mine's probably the skipping stones.

Tekeshi's Castle and title

Post by Lion »

Well, I don't know if it is called 'beat the timer' I could be wrong, it's the one were one runs on a platform, tries to get pass three Billy Corgan clones (they remind me of BC from the Smashing Pumpkins during the Adore music video) than a big ball drops from above while the person is trying to run on a gigantic moving belt, then they jump into a box full of blue square sponges and so on........ that is my favorite contest. About Coonskin title, well thanks, as you can see I am new to the forum and I didn't want to start bad.

Here is my translation of Ajax when he says: "I am going to shove that bat......", in spanish. Ajax-"Te voy a meter ese bate en la cola y convertirte en paleta". :P

Ralph Bakshi's Streetfight and other flicks

I know this is an old thread but I wanted to chime in. Yes, I do like Ralph Bakshi's films. I've seen Street Fight, Fritz the Cat, Hey Good Lookin', Cool World and a short TV series he did called Spicy City, but my all-time favorite film of his is American Pop(which I own). Has anyone seen any of the ones I mentioned?
