This film is a serious must see!
Its a British 70's films about the Mods Vs Bikers
I really do reccomend you get hold of it.
It was meant to have been big in the 70's in england but never really recieved cult stauts like the warriors.

and a little bonus . . .  It was made by The Who they also provided the soundtrack
;)

Anyone seen this or is it just me??

Haha we seem to haver a very familiar taste in films!!

And i must have said Bikers instead of Rockers because i was thinking of puttinig (Rides Scooters) and (Rides Bikes) next to each gangs name.

"We are the Mods! We are the Mods! We are, we are, We are the Mods!"

Also do you reckon Jimmy dies at the end or did he bail at the last second?
Cause you only see the bike hit the ground and not him .. . .

Well, I always thought I could see Jimmy standing on the cliff, watching the scooter fall. But, who knows? It's very hard to see.

And yes, we do seem to like the same movies !

are yopu serious?...
were youve been? by the way it THE WHO (hello!!) the greatest rock band of all time. and its Mods vs Rockers..
probably the best British film on teenager life in the 60s when there was a beach fights between the two rivals.
based on the WHOS rock opera QUADROPHENIA (nice spelling bro..) directed by Franc Roddam 1979.
starring Phil Daniels,Lesley Ash, and a cameo by Sting as "aceface"...i hate when people get the words or spelling wrong on anything from THE WHO..sorry

hey buddy put away your no-talent hip hop or rap (or any music from the 90s on) away..and listen to some real rock n roll or music for that matter..

youll never see music of today standards made into a feature film by the concept alone..TOMMY and QUADROPHENIA...and soon Townshends "The Boy WHO heard Music"

"I have to be Careful not to reach, i cant pretend that i can teach..and yet i lived your future out, by pounding stages like a clown"
"And on the dancefloor broken glass, and bloody faces slowly pass..the numbered seats in empty rows..
it all belongs to me y'know"

You might weant to edit your post, whole thing looked like one big quote.
And you clearly havent read through the rest of the post i cleared up the Rockers/bikers thing.
And Quadrophenia is a pretty hard word to spell (Might have miss spelt it there)
And Rap/Hip Hop doesnt really do it for me, not my kind of music.
Im more into:
The Jam
The Who
The Beatles
Arctic Monkeys
The Police

Etc Etc.

Oh and by the way.
The reason i never actually saw this film back in the 70's was because i was still an Embryo.

Which explains alot . . .

My dad told me about it.
He was a Mod.

My dad was a mod, still kind of is. Deffinately rubbed off on me aswel I wear my Harington jacket with pride!

This is one of my favourite films of all time. Jimmy does'nt die at the end. The very beggining of the film were you see him walking from the cliff edge, is what happened just after he launched stings bike over.

Someone said this movie didn't recieve a cult status like The Warriors. it was a major infuence on the Mod revival back in the 70's. My Dad told me astory about when him and his mod mates saw Quadrophenia for the first time. He said there him and a load of mods who went to the first screening, as soon as they all got out they were so hyped up by it they ran to this pub were all the Rockers hung out called "the John Bull chophouse" (its still there today). And seeing as we can't talk about violence round here i'll let people who know about mods and rockers guess what happened next.

Brilliant film.
