Re: The best movie endings
Would have to be scarface for me.
That gunfight at the end is awesome, the sheer ragem the blood, the lights, the "Holy S*** he just got shot in the back with a shotgun"
Cant get much better than that.

The shootout at the end of Taxi Driver is amazing, for me. I also think the ending for Reservoir Dogs is awesome. White shoots Orange, cops shoot White, and then Coconut plays.
Brilliant.

Lets see, theres so many :-k Well 2001: A Space Oddessy. Yalk abou a tripy ending. One of those, complex endings that leaves you thinking on a higher level.
And as for a newer one, how about the sixth sense, where we find out Bruce Willis character is actually dead.

Re: The best movie endings
speaking of John Woo, I always admired his actions with guns. They resemble modern day swords, and he doesn't just have a chaotic shooting situations, but rather makes it into a more artistic and honorable stand off.

i agree, the sixth sense was a brilliant film. the ending is really good and it makes you rewind the film to see wheteher anyone does directly talk to him or see him.adam88 wrote: Lets see, theres so many :-k Well 2001: A Space Oddessy. I think Old Boy was another good ending. Of course, The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly was a classic.

Raging Bull.... "I'm the boss!" De Niro at his best!
Blazing Saddles, the fight at the end hahaha.. One minute the cast are in the Wild West, next minute their all running riot in the studios.
A Hard Days Night, everything The Bealtes did in that film was cool. But I just love then ending where Paul lobs all the fake autographs out the helicopter his grandad made.

Re: The best movie endings
The original night of the living dead. just when you thought he had made it and survived, he gets shot by a redneck and thrown on a bonfire.
Halloween. The camera looks to where michael landed but he's nowhere to be seen.
Dead or alive (the takashi miike film, not the 1 based on the game). He rips out his own heart and throws it to intercept a missile, then the world blows up.
The wicker man (original version). Edward woodward gets burned alive. the good guys dont prevail.
Fist of fury. Bruce jumping to his death in a hail of gun fire.
American werewolf in london. Mass carnage scene before the wolf is shot and turns back to a human.
thats just a few for now.

hmmmm....
Lucky Number Slevin-Where Slevin gets revenge on 'The Boss' and 'The Rabbi' by suffocating them with plastic bags.
Reservoir Dogs-excellent ending, as CIC said.

Stand by Me.
Natural City.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels.
Big Trouble in Little China.
Death Sentence. Very very very nice, gives you an idea of how crazy you can get over the concept of revenge, going from a happy life to a miserable psychopath.
Kung Fu Hustle.
Sharkskin Man and Peach Hip Girl.
