"Are you alright?" A voice shook Robin from her thoughts and she looked up from her plate of food and across to Masai. He had decided that since they were getting 'street married', as Robin decided to call it, that they should spend some time together. So he had arranged a meal for the two of them. Only it wasn't just the two of them. There were two Riffs standing in the room near the doors like gaurds, one of them was Mike.
"Huh? Yeah, Oh yeah I'm fine" She said giving him a weak smile and looking back down to her plate, once again shoving the piece of chicken back and forth on the plate with her fork.
"You don't seem fine. Tell me whats wrong" he said quietly. She took in a deep breath, unsure of how to approach the subject. The last time she had tried to ask about Vermin and what happened Masai got very angry and started shouting about respect and how he just wanted her best interests in mind.
"I've been thinking...about that night.." She began, the clatter of masai's fork hitting his plate cutting her off and making her jump. He crossed his arms infront of him and his jaw clenched in frustration. He just couldn't understand why she wouldn't let it go.
"I just want to make sure I have all the facts in order thats all...are you..." Suddenly Masai shot up from his seat and started pacing around the table, Robin staying glued to where she was.
"Am I what?!" He spat, "Am I sure I saw that Warrior shove his tongue down the Lizzie's throat? Am I sure i'm telling you the total, one hundered percent truth?!" He was going around the table like a vulture and Robin would have been lying had she said she wasn't frightened.
"I didn't mean..."  She began but without warning the Riff's leader exploaded and with one swipe he sent the whole table flying across the room, plates and food smashing off the wall. He strode forward and grabbed a handful of Robins hair, pulling her down from her seat and his free arm was wrapped around her front as if in a gentle hug from behind.
"Can't you see I just want what is best for you? I just want you to be safe. If you know what is best for you, you will not bring up this topic again" He said quietly, letting go of her hair and dropping her to the floor. She didn't move until she heard the door shut and the room was empty apart from her and Mike.
"Are you alright?" He asked, running to her side. She was staring at the floor, tears running down her face. Mike put his arms around her.
"Shhh it's okay..." He said quietly "You know he's not normally like this. He really is very fond of you" he said. Robin let out a stuttery laugh.
"I just...I want to go home. Tell Masai that i'm going home..and i'll see him at the wedding" She said, removing Mike's arms from her and walking out of the room, leaving the Riff sitting alone with the mess of the nights dinner.

--------------------

"Come on now, it ain't polite to let an elder wait. I aint gonna ask again, which one of you is Vermin" The man said. Vermin gulped and took a step forward, not liking the look of the stranger.
"I'm Vermin, who are you?" He said, doing his best to cover his shaky voice. The man smiled at him and took a step forward.
"You're deffinately my daughters type" He said with a smirk. Vermin's eyes widened.
"Are you Robin's father? Head of the Satans Mothers?" Verming asked. The man nodded.
"Thats right. You can call me Jack" He said "Am I to understand you've got a situation going with my baby girl?" He asked. Vermin couldn't speak, his throat had suddenly gone dry. Never in his life had he even had a steady girlfriend, he was a love em and leave em type, and now he was meeting a father.
"Well are you going to explain to me what's going on? Or have I come all the way from Brooklyn for nothing?" He growled. Vermin cleared his throat.
"Its..its a little complicated..."He began "You'd better sit down"

---------------------

She walked into her appartment tired and depressed. To her it seemed strange that Masai made such a big deal out of her wanting to know the blanks in her memory. If one thing was for sure it was that after that outburst she wasn't going to be asking again anytime soon. As soon as she sat down on the sofa, there was a knock at the door and Melody let herself in quietly.
"Hey there, you're back early. Good dinner?" She asked gently, sitting down next to the Harlots leader. Robin rolled her eyes and laughed a cold and hollow laugh that didn't reach her eyes.
"Not really...I asked about Vermin" She said. Melody smiled and perked up, her eyes lighting.
"Oh yeah?"
"Yeah and he went totally insane, threw the dinner table across the room and I am never going to ask about it again" She said. Her voice was quiet and deap pan. The Robin melody knew would have fought back and smack Masai around the mouth. Instead she just sat there with a tear streaked face, staring ahead of her.
"A Riff dropped off a package for you, it's in your room for you" Melody said quietly, deciding to change the subject. Robin took a deep inhale and made herself stand up, shuffling towards her bedroom with Melody in tow. On the bed was a white box with a note on the top. She unfolded the small note and sighed.
"I'm sorry" She read aloud before dropping it to the bed. Three guesses who that is from she thought. Slowly she opened the lid and inside lay a silk kimono style top in black with small pink orchids embroyered on the bottom and working its way up to the right shoulder and trimmed in light pink. She picked it up and turned it over, looking at the Harlots logo that was printed on the back.
"That is stunning!" Melody exclaimed viewing the beautiful silk top.
"Must have cost a fortune" Robin muttered, "I suppose this is for me to wear after we're married" Melody screwed her nose in distaste.
"Ick, a matching married couple. That's just wrong" Robin smiled.
"Probably not what Masai is thinking. Just another symbol of how possesive he is!" she said. She took off her short vest and white tshirt and slipped the silk top on. It fitted like a glove, the sleeves coming down to her elbows and flaring out and the band sitting tightly around her ribs and flaring out underneith and sitting just below her hips.
"It looks really good!" Melody said. Robin sighed.
"yeah...it does..."

---------------------

30 minutes later and Vermin had finally finished explaining to Jack exactly what was going on with his daughter. The older man was sitting across from Vermin and the others, his hands together and his chin resting on them in thought. Vermin sat, still nervous hoping that the Satans Mother didn't beat him to within an inch of his life. Suddenly Jack too a sharp inhale and moved his hands.
"That is some mess you've gotten yourself into junior" He said. Vermin didn't really appreciate being called junior but he didn't really feel he was in a position to argue. If there was anything the Satans Mothers were well known for, appart from drug deals, it was their temper.
"Yeah I know"
"So what were you planning to do?" He asked. Verming shrugged a little bit. He hadn't thought what he was going to do and now he had to explain it to a potential nut job.
"Well...I was thinking i'd start by breaking up the wedding..." Vermin muttered. Suddenly Jack slammed his fist on the table, making everyone in the vacinity jump. He was frowning and looking intensly at Vermin.
"To break up a Riff street wedding you've either got to be suicidal or completely insane" He growled, suddenly the frown was gone and he held a manic grin and his eyes had lit up, "I'm going with you!" Vermin shook his head a little and his eyes grew wide.
"Seriously?" Jack walked over to him and with a grin slapped him on the back. A sting started to run through his shoulder and he suddenly realised how thick his Warriors vest actually was.
"Course I'm serious. I'll be damned if my only daughter is going to marry that self righteous son-of-a-bitch!" Vermin, for the first time since Jack had let himself into the Warriors hang out, Vermin relaxed. There was finally someone on his side.

----------------------

From her position at the window she could see down into Gramercy park. The park was full of various gang members, all bustling around and talking with one another. The sky was fairly grey and the orange leaves were starting to fall, spotting the green grass with orange and golden dots. Her girls had left her alone for a while at her request. She was standing, her hair was done and she was standing wearing a stunning simple white dress, the wide straps sitting off her shoulders. She would have thought it was perfect had it not been bought with Riff money.

She glanced down at the grass again and everyone was starting to take their places, Masai was walking up the make shift aisle smiling and nodding at everyone and thanking them for coming. She couldn't help be feel harsh disappointment at not being able to see any Warrior vests. She did feel better about spying a Satan's Mother vest and recognising Spider. At least there would be someone who actually knew her and didn't feel the need to suck up.

"Wow, look at all this crap" A voice said from the door. Robin turned around and smiled at Melody who walked in, shutting the door behind her.
"I know, I thought i'd at least get some good presents out of this thing!" She said, looking at the random presents that were lying around the room. The stunning yet useless ceremonial sword that the Savage Huns had given them was a good example of the kind of presents they had been given. Melody walked over to her friend and took her hand.
"Robin I really wish you wouldn't do this" She said quietly. Robin shook her head.
"This is the only option. Masai won't stop until he's got what he wants and...this is what he wants. I'm securing the future of this gang" She said. Melody frowned.
"And what about Vermin, you have to know he didn't do what Masai said he did?" Robin sighed and her eyes began to brim with tears.
"Mel, I've seen Masai's state of mind and i've seen what he can do...I don't want him to totally snap"
"But..."
"No! This is the only way...there's no white knight coming to save me! I need to make my own luck.." She said. Mel opened her mouth to speak and then closed it again. Knowing there was no point in arguing.
"Alright, You know that no matter what you do, i'll stand by your decision. See you down there in 5 minutes okay?" She said going over and hugging her friend. Robin hugged her back and nodded to her friend giving her a weak smile before she walked out of the door.

-----------------------

There were a number of things Robin never thought she'd do in her lifetime and walking down the aisle was one of them. Even if it was just a long gap in between lots of people, it still had a groom and a preacher standing at the end. She was also noting that a few months ago, if someone had told her she'd be marrying Masai, she would have laughed in their face.
Slowly she was walking down the empty space between the large number of gang members towards the very serious Riff at the far end. All of them were smiling at her and it was making her sick. They were there hoping to get a boost up the social ladder and that was all. As she walked, Vermin stood hidden between a random mix of different gang members along side Jack who had a strange smile on his face.
"She looks stunning" He muttered. Vermin smiled. She really did look stunning but then again he thought she looked stunning at anytime. They slowly began to move towards the side of the aisle so they could lean out and see the back of Robin as she and Melody made her way to the front. She stopped and turned to Masai. Even then he didn't smile. The precher took a deep breath and looked between the two and then out to the crowd.
"Everyone, we are gathered here today to acknowledge and celebrate the mutual love and respect that these two people share" He began. Vermin had to fight the urge to cough loudly but instead he just held a hard frown. Melody already had tears in her eyes and Vermin knew it wasn't out of happiness.  Robin hated the fact that she couldn't see Masai's eyes. There was something that was unsettling about it, that even when they were gettin married, he still wouldn't totally open up to her.
"In todays times" The precher continued, "Especially here on the streets, A lot of people seem to forget that love is a gift. When you find that one person who is always going to have your back, no matter what you've done, no matter how much trouble you're in, you should make sure that you hold onto that person for as long as possible" He said. Robin felt sick. Throughout the whole speech all she had thought about was Vermin and how much she missed him. She didn't love Masai. At the moment she wasn't sure if she even liked him  in any way.
"If anyone here has a reason these two should not commit to each other, speak now.." Suddenly Jack jumped into the Aisle and began to walk towards the two at front.
"I do" Robin's mouth hung open in shock and she squirmed her hand out of Masai's and took a step away from him.
"Dad? What are you doing here!?" She said, tears starting to trail down her cheeks.
"Well did you really expect a father to just stand by and watch his baby girl marry someone totally wrong for her?" He said with a small, smug smile. Masai growled and took a step forward towards Jack.
"Now you listen.."
"No Masai YOU listen. I couldn't give a  rats ass what you do to me but you can't go and ruin my daughters life just because it suits you. It ain't right!" Jack exclaimed. He turned to Robin and held his arms out, his daughter falling into them in a massive hug.
"I'm so happy to see you" She said. Jack hugged her back before turning back to Masai.
"Now, one last thing I gotta clear up before we leave...Masai, what happened at your party?" Jack asked. Masai shifted his weight from one foot to the other uncomfortable with the question. He gulped and sucked in a sharp breath.
"There was an incident...thats all" He said with a stern voice. Jack laughed.
"Oh really? Come on now, you may as well tell the truth now that the wedding is ruined anyway. So come on now boy! Tell her how you set that Warrior up by paying that cheap whore of a gang member" He said. Robins face twisted into a hard frown and she stepped forward towards the Riff.
"Is that true?" She whispered to him, so quietly that only he could hear. He stood in silence but his eyes cast to the floor.
"Answer me! Is. That. TRUE?!" She shouted. Masai suddenly threw his sunglasses off and stepped so close to her that his chest was touching hers.
"Of course it's not true..."
"Yes it is Masai..." A voice came from behind him and Mike stepped forward between the two. He looked at Robin with pleading eyes.
"I'm so sorry Robin, I wanted to tell you...I really did.." Mike said. Masai turned towards the smaller man.
"Shut up!"
"No! I can't just take a step back anymore" He turned back to Robin "He set the whole thing up. I'm so sorry" She sighed and stayed still for a moment before suddenly reaching out and slapping the Riff's leader, a loud crack ringing through the park and a few people in the front making hissing sounds at the thought of the sting.
"I should have done that a long time ago" She hissed at him. She turned to her father.
"How did you even hear about all of this? Did Spider tell you?" She asked. Jack nodded.
"Yeah he did. He told me about this Warrior that apparently broke your heart and I went to check it out. He told me the truth" Robin wiped away a tear that was down her cheek. "Don't cry sweetheart, Best thing for you to do right now, is to turn around" He said to her. For a second she didn't understand what he was talking about until he nodded in the direction of the aisle where Vermin was making his way towards her. Without any hesitation she ran towards him, throwing her arms around his neck and planting a kiss on him before he even had a chance to get a word in. She pulled away and hugged him again, his arms wrapped around her waist.
"i'm so sorry! I should have known that it wasn't you!" She said, crying into his shoulder. He smiled and pulled her back, looking her in the face and wiping her tears away.
"Come on, you don't need to cry! It's okay, i'm here to take you home" He said quietly with a small grin. Suddenly Masai shoved Mike and Jack out of the way, marching over to the pair and breaking up the reunion.
"Robin, enough of this!" He shouted, grabbing her arm so hard that the skin around his fingers was starting to go white and red marks were being made. He yanked her away, pulling on her shoulder and making her cry out.  Vermin stepped forward quickly and without thinking landed a hard right hook square on the Riff leaders nose, shattering the bone and sending him to the floor. He took a step forward and leaned over the floored man.
"Games over Masai...and you've lost"
