whell here i am i just joined the site because the warriors is one of the best movies i have ever seen and i cant stop watching the movie. for my drama clases we had to write a socieo political play and i chose to write myne on gang vilence it has some simalarities to the warriors but a totlay diferent plot and we only could use 5 charactors. I felt that it belonged in the fan fiction foroum because it was inspired by the warriors and some charactors are similar to some main charactors in the warriors it does contain some harsh language so VIEWER DISCRESION IS ADVISED it is also set to the music of Guns n Roses. well here it is tell me what you think
Characters
Josh - a mild mannered 17 year old who wants desperately to turn his life around any way he can. Also demands and fights for the little respect he can get. He is also strong willed and doesn?t give up easily. Is a bit of a follower in the sense that he often agrees with others even if it contrasts his own wishes. He rarely acts on his own accord unless forced to or the situation demands it. He is generally a good person but he is often influenced to commit unlawful acts by the wishes of others
Damian- Leader of the small time street gang the Rozes. He is fiercely loyal to his gang and their reputation. He also always feels that everyone is trying to take his girl friend Angela away from him. He has little respect for anyone who isn?t in the gang and he also treats his girl friend poorly. He shows Manic depressive tendencies and general mental insatiability.
Angela- Damien?s girlfriend who hates the fact that he is running a street gang and some times is bitter toward him because of it. She can be fairly optimistic at times though and cares very much for material possessions. No mater how bad Damien treats her she always seems to love him and she has a sort of dependence on him.
Troy- Damien?s best friend, and second in command in the gang The Roses. Not very intelligent but has brute strength compensates for that. He is also is very protective of his friendship with Damien and always thinks people are trying to break it apart. He is also very hot headed and will fight someone even if not provoked. When he gets into a rage Damian is the only one able to calm him down. Troy seems to act differently when he is alone with Damien and loses some of his hot headedness and actually thinks things through. He is also better able to get along with people when he gets to knows them better
Officer Thompson- a local beat cop that doesn?t take any crap from anyone. He is strongly against gangs and has no problem ruffling up there members. He was charged last year on the counts of police brutality and almost lost his badge for it now he seems to have a grudge against anyone who crosses his path innocent or guilty.
Scene 1
(Outside in an alley)
(Welcome to the Jungle is playing)
(Josh is walking across the stage with his school bag on one shoulder)
(Welcome to the Jungle ends)
Josh: Man another day down the gutter, wasted?being the punching bag of the disgruntle youth of Downsville High. I can?t believe I let people treat me like that, good thing I am moving. I can get a fresh start at a new school.
(As Josh reaches halfway across the stage someone wearing a ski mask jumps out from behind the curtains and knocks him to the ground)
Mugger: Give me all your money and valuables.
(Josh quickly obliges and starts giving the mugger his stuff)
Josh: Here take my bag, too. Just don?t kill me.
Mugger: Just as I thought?he?s a wimp, too. Keep your crap bag!
(Throws bag back at Josh, and takes Joshes money)
( Josh tries to get up and grab back his money at the same, but falls and grabs and rips the mugger?s sleeve. This exposes a tattoo of a rose on the mugger?s inner wrist.)
Mugger: That?s gonna cost ya!
(The mugger kicks Josh twice in the stomach)
Mugger: That was barely even worth my time. Thanks for the money though, buddy. Maybe I?ll see ya again some time.
(The mugger laughs)
Mugger: What a joke.
(The mugger walks off stage)
(Josh slowly gets up)
Josh: This has got to change. I don?t care the cost.
(Josh yells)
Josh: I have got to change.
(Josh standing in the middle of the stage trembling)
(Lights go out props are changed for next scene)
(Paradise City is playing)
Scene 2
(In Josh?s new school Central High)
One week later on Josh?s first day at his new school, Central High, when he is walking through the cafeteria?
(Josh walks across stage with confidence)
(Paradise City ends)
Josh: I hope this works. A new school. A new rep.
(As Josh is saying this Troy enters from opposite side of Josh, when Troy passes Josh he intentionally knocks into him with his shoulder then turns around and looks at Josh)
Troy: What you going to do about it.
(Josh turns to face him and just looks at him)
Troy: That?s what I thought. Keep walking, you little bitch.
(Josh stands still for a second. Troy gives him a dirty look. As Troy turns to leave Josh turns him around and punches him in the face.)
Troy: What the hell? You?re dead!!
(Troy grabs Josh by the collar and holds him against the wall)
Troy: Do you know who you?re dealing with?
Josh: Do look like I care?
Troy: You must have a death wish then.
(Troy gets ready to punch Josh in the face)
(Damian walks in from behind the curtains on the left side of the stage)
Damian: Troy turn him lose.
(Troy is still holding Josh)
Damian: Troy!
Troy: Fine, but I really wanted to waste this punk
Damian: Troy my man, this punk here has more balls than half this school
(Damian turns to Josh)
Damian: Maybe I was wrong about you before.
Josh: What?
Troy: Shut up. You don?t speak to Damian unless spoken to.
Damian: What?s your name punk?
Josh: I am no punk and my name is Josh
(Troy is about to punch Josh again)
Damian: Troy!
(Troy lowers his fist)
Damian: Now that?s better, play nice kids.
(Angela walks by)
Angela: Hi Damian, baby.
Damian: Not the time baby I got stuff to do and people to waste.
Angela: You still hung up on that gang bullshit?
Damian: And if I am?
(Angela turns to Josh)
Angela: Maybe I should start looking into finding another man who actually has his priorities straight.
(Damian looks shocked and stammers)
Damian: Oh ya and take some of ma meds and hold on to them for me just in case I lose all mine. You know how I can be, Baby.
Angela: Ya I know
(Damian tosses the pack of meds to Angela then she walks off stage)
(Damian glares at Josh then lightens up again)
Damian: Maybe you should chill with us more often Josh ma man. We?re called The Rozes, hell maybe we will even let you join if you can handle it.
Troy: Ya if you can handle it.
(Troy laughs)
Damian: Let?s go Troy. I got things to screw up, and people to waste. Later Josh.
Troy: Later Bitch.
(Troy throws a fake punch at Josh)
(Josh flinches, Troy laughs)
Damian: Come on, Troy.
(Damian and Troy walk off stage)
Josh: Maybe this new school will work out
(Lights go out props are changed for next scene)
Scene 3
(The Rozes hangout)
(Troy and Damian are sitting at table playing cards in The Rozes? hangout)
Damian: Read ?em ?n? weep Troy my man.
(Damian drops a king and an ace)
Troy: Sorry I?m illiterate.
(Troy drops two aces)
(Damian throws the cards off the table and tips over the table)
Damian: What did I tell you about cheating me Troy!
Troy: I didn?t cheat you man, why the hell would I do that? It wasn?t even for money.
Damian: True man, true. You know how I get sometimes.
Troy: Did you take your meds?
Damian: No man, they stopped carrying the brand I take, and I can?t afford a trip to the doctor to get a new prescription.
Troy: Man you seriously gotta get those meds or some one you don?t want to hurt might get seriously wasted.
Damian: Shut up Troy. Like I don?t know that?
(Josh enters)
Damian: What?s happening new Roze?
Josh: Nothing much, so this is where you wanted to meet me?
Damian: No we didn?t want to meet you here.
Josh: So why are you here?
(Damian idly sitting in chair)
Damian: No reason.
Josh: What?
(Damian turns to Josh)
Damian: Obviously we were waiting for you. If you want to be one of The Rozes you got to stay sharp and use your brain, except for Troy who has so much muscle he doesn?t need to.
Troy: Come on. Let?s go. It?s time for this little punk to earn his colours.
(Troy and Damian get up)
Damian: Let?s go. Josh Follow me.
Josh: Where are we going?
Damian: To get your colours, man.
Troy: Ya you?re going to prove to us that you are good enough for the Rozes
(Troy, Damian and Josh leave the stage)
(Lights go out props are changed for next scene)
Scene 4
(In an ally)
(Damian and Josh walk on stage)
(Damian turns to the curtains)
Damian: Come on Troy, at least try to keep up!
(Troy emerges from the curtains)
Troy: I am going as fast as I can man. Chill out.
Damian: Even Josh is faster then you
Troy: Shut up man.
Damian: Let?s rock this town, Rozes!
(New Rose is playing)
Damian: I love fuckin peoples shit up.
(Damian, Josh and troy start to break things and throw stuff around and play fight)
Damian: Nice! Let?s lay down our emblem on this wall.
(Damian takes a bottle of spray paint out of his coat)
Damian: Josh do the honours. Tag that wall and let everyone know the Rozes were here tonight.
Josh: No problem.
(Josh spray paints the Rozes logo on the wall as Damian and Troy watch)
Damian: Josh now you?re one of us. Your one of the Rozes, now let?s get back to the hangout, and we can get you some proper colours.
Josh: Nice.
(New Rose ends)
(Officer Thompson walks on stage with night stick in hand)
Officer Thompson: what the hell are you punks doing vandalizing private property again?
Damian: No, it?s Rozes? property.
Officer Thompson: I don?t want to hear any of your gang bullshit. You three are under arrest.
Troy: What if we don?t feel like being arrested? What the hell will you do, Tommy boy?
Officer Thompson: Do you know what I will do? I will tell you what I will do.
(As Officer Thompson says this he slowly walks up to Troy, pulling out his night stick till he?s right in Troy?s face)
Officer Thompson: What I'll do is I'll beat your punk ass home crying to your mama. Then I will beat her worse for raising such a piece of shit for a son.
(Troy pushes Officer Thompson back)
Troy: Don?t you ever talk about my mother you pig piece of shit.
(Officer Thompson hits Troy in the ribs with his night stick. Then he hits him again in his stomach and Troy drops to the floor)
Officer Thompson: You see what you get? You hot headed piece of?
(Attitude starts playing)
(At that second Josh and Damian look at each other and jump on the surprised Officer Thompson)
(Josh knocks him to the ground picks him back up and holds him while Damian repeatedly punches him in the stomach and face)
(Attitude finishes)
Damian: This is what you get, Officer, when you mess with the Rozes.
Josh: How do you like it you piece of shit?
Damian: Josh drop him. He's learned his lesson.
(Damian turns to Officer Thompson who is lying on the floor and goes down on one knee and goes right in his face)
Damian: You can?t beat the Rozes. Not you or any other piece of shit in this town. Our name is immortal, and will be carved into the stepping stones of civilization forever. As long as there are people like me around there will always be the Rozes or other gangs like us and not you, or even the goddamned president of the United States of America can change that! The Rozes die when I say Die and not any time sooner. We had a nice little chat, Officer. I hope it sticks?for your sake anyway. Come on Rozes let's get outa here and leave the officer to think over what he just learned. Josh? help Troy up let?s go
(Josh helps up Troy and Troy, Damian and Josh leave the stage leaving Officer Thompson lying on the ground)
(Lights go out props are changed for next scene)
(Night Train starts playing)
Scene 5
(Central High)
(Troy, Damian and Josh are walking down the hallway)
(Night Train finishes)
Josh: Ya know everything seems to be working out.
Damian: What you mean Josh ma man?
Josh: I don?t know. Everything is just cool.
Troy: Don?t you go getting soft on us--that could seriously scar our rep.
(Josh pushes Troy jokingly)
Josh: It?s already scarred.
Damian: Watch how you talk about the gang. You could get wasted talking like that.
(Josh has a shocked look on his face)
Damian: Don?t piss your pants, man. I was just joking.
(Damian grabs Josh by the shirt, and pulls out a switch blade)
Damian: I wasn?t joking, you fuck! If you ever talk bad about the Rozes again I will gut you myself.
(Troy pulls Damian off Josh)
Troy: You gotta chill, man before you do something you regret. Man how long have you been off your meds?
Damian: About a week. I need them. I need them so bad it isn?t even funny.
(Damian starts to sob)
Troy: Let?s get him outa here before he makes a scene.
(Troy and Josh start to pick up Damian)
(Damian shrugs them off)
Damian: I can handle myself. What do I look like to you? A kid or something? I just really need ma meds. I don?t know how long I can last without them. Here comes Angela. I think I gave her some of my meds just in case. Maybe that chick has more then one use after all.
(Black Leather starts to play)
(Angela walks by. All the guys? eyes follow her across the stage)
(Damian hits Troy in the chest)
(Black Leather ends)
Damian: Hey man, that?s my girlfriend.
Troy: I know, man. You can still look at the menu without ordering.
(Damian glares at Troy)
Damian: Angela, baby. You got my meds that I gave you before?
Angela: Oh those. I thought you were joking. I left them at home.
Damian: Hey Baby. Can you go back there, and get them from your house?
Angela: I can?t go right after school. I have a meeting with the principal, and it?s going to be late. By the time I get out it will be dark, and I?ll have to cross the park alone. Do you want me dead??
Damian: Who said anything about after school, baby? I want you to run there now.
Angela: Are you joking? I?m not your errand boy.
(Angela storms off stage)
Damian: What did I say, Troy my man? Sometimes I don?t understand broads.
Josh: I don?t know, man. I don?t know.
Damian: Was I talking to you! Come on, Rozes. Let?s go! We?ll get a 24, and this time I?m paying.
Josh: Where?d you get the money?
Damian: I earned it honestly. What do you think? Use your head!
(Damian knocks Josh?s head as if trying to knock some sense into it.)
(Josh, Troy and Damian leave the stage rough housing)
(Lights go out props are changed for next scene)
Scene 6
(At the Rozes? hangout)
(Troy, Damian, and Josh walk on stage. Troy is carrying a 24 of beer which he puts on the table. Troy pulls Josh aside while Damian is on the other side of the stage paying no attention to them.)
Troy, whispering: Josh! We?ve gotta find Angela and get Damian?s meds. He?s really starting to whack out.
(Josh raises an eyebrow.)
Troy: I mean more than usual. He broke down in tears in the hallway. I know he?s manic something, but I know it?s not usually that bad.
Josh: Why don?t we just break into Angela?s house and get it?
Troy: Are you crazy? You know what Damian would think was going on.
Josh: We gotta try. He?s liable to kill himself.
Troy: True man. True! Yo, Damian!
Damian: Ya, Troy. What is it?
Troy: Me and Josh are just goin? to head down the street to pick up a carton of smokes.
Damian: Alright, man. But hurry up you?re missing out on the party.
(Troy and Josh leave the stage. Damian sits down and picks up a bottle.)
(Lights go out props are changed for next scene)
Scene 7
(At Angela?s house)
(Josh and Troy enter the stage.)
Troy: I can?t believe she left her door open. This is the easiest B and E I?ve ever done.
Josh: Come on. Let?s just find the meds and get outta here.
(Troy gives Josh a little push to get him moving, and he knocks into a table where a bottle of Angela?s perfume falls and breaks spilling it on him.)
Troy: Ooh don?t you smell sweet. It suits you.
Josh: Man, quiet down. Someone will hear us.
Troy: Why do you gotta be so paranoid, Josh? No one will hear us. There?s no one even home.
(Angela enters the room, holding a bat.)
Angela: Who?s there?
Troy: Chill Ange. It?s Troy. We?re here to pick up Damian?s meds.
Angela: Oh, they?re just over here on the table. I?ll get them.
(The phone rings.)
Angela: Josh, could you just get that while I get the medicine? It?s probably just a life insurance salesman.
(Josh answers the phone)
Josh: Buddy she?s busy. Phone back later.
(Behind the curtains, Damian?s voice is heard)
Damian: Josh? Josh?
(Josh quickly hangs up the phone looking very shaken)
Angela: Who was that, Josh? A salesman again?
Josh: Worse?it was Damian, and I think he recognized my voice.
Angela: He could have thought it was anyone.
Josh: No he knows my voice.
Troy: We better get back before Damian drowns himself in beer thinking his girl?s cheating on him.
Josh: Alright, let?s go.
(Lights go out props are changed for next scene)
Scene 8
(At the Rozes hangout)
(Aint It Fun starts to play)
(Damian puts down the phone slowly, and drops into the chair. He pulls a bottle of beer out of the box and chugs it. He throws the bottle against the wall and reaches for another. As he drinks he takes a picture out of his wallet, and tears it into little pieces. He continues to drink one bottle after another. He leans back in his chair, and slowly slips to the floor. He climbs back up, tips over the table and picks up the chair and slams it onto the floor. He falls to his knees, and tries to collect the little pieces of the torn picture tears running down his face. He collects all the pieces and puts his head in his hands sobbing. The lights fade as the song ends.)
(Lights go out props are changed for next scene)
Scene 9
(At the Park)
(Josh, Troy and Angela run onto the stage looking winded)
Josh: How far are we from the hangout?
Troy: It will be a few minutes but we gotta keep running. Who knows what Damian will do in the state he is in?
(Officer Thompson enters the stage from other side)
Officer Thompson: So off on a little walk across the park with your little lady friend?
Josh: What do you want officer? We haven?t committed anything wrong.
Officer Thompson: You don?t consider assaulting an officer of the law an offense? Don?t worry I got a little present for you. Catch!
(Officer Thompson throws a plastic bag to Josh with an object inside)
Josh: What the hell is this?
(He takes the object out of the bag and it is a switchblade)
Officer Thompson: Okay now no one move or I?ll shoot.
Troy: You can?t shoot us that?s against the law.
(Officer Thompson looks over his arm at Troy who is standing further to the right of the group)
Officer Thompson: Yes shooting an unarmed civilian is against the law, but the switchblade I just planted on your buddy there does not make him unarmed anymore. I could blow him away at will, (Officer Thompson cocks the gun), and all I would have to do is plead self defense and I am off the hook. Even if you testified against me who would the jury believe? A punk like you or a hero like me?
Josh: You?re no hero!
(Officer Thompson turns from Troy to look at Josh again. As he does this Troy charges at him and knocks Officer Thompson?s gun out of his hand and knocks Officer Thompson to the ground)
Troy: Run I am not letting no one get wasted tonight!
Josh: You could have gotten away easy when the gun was pointed at me
Troy: I said no one?s getting wasted and I mean it! Now go!
(Angela and Josh run off stage)
(Officer Thompson Gets back up)
Officer Thompson: You?re dead, punk
Troy: Haven?t you learned yet Tommy boy Rozes never die. Now let?s see how you fight without a weapon.
(Out Ta Get Me begins to play in the background, and as the action increases the song gets louder)
(Officer Thompson swings at Troy who ducks under it. Troy punches Officer Thompson in the stomach, and when Officer Thompson goes down Troy knees him in the face. Officer Thompson goes down and trips Troy to the floor. When Troy falls to the floor Officer Thompson gets on him and pins him down and frees one of Troy?s arms while he reaches to get his cuffs. As soon as he does this Troy punches him in the face, flips him over so he is on top, and starts punching Officer Thompson in the face. He gets up off Officer Thompson and kicks him in the stomach then runs off stage. Officer Thompson rolls over and picks up his gun and points it in the direction Troy left looking desperately for a target.)
(Out Ta Get Me ends)
(Lights go out props are changed for next scene)
Scene 10
(The Rozes? hangout)
(Josh and Angela run onto the stage Damian is sitting in a chair looking worse for ware)
Damian: So Josh. That was a long Trip to get smokes. About 30 minutes too long actually. What the hell is going on?
Josh: I can explain.
Damian: Explain what? Why you were doing my girl behind my back! I would love to hear that explanation
Josh: It?s not what you think. You gotta chill, man.
Damian: Don?t tell me to chill. Wasn?t it your voice on Angela's phone when I phoned to invite her over for the party?
Angela: That was my dad.
Damian: Nice try baby but if it was your dad why would Josh smell like your perfume? See now, Josh you have even turned my girl against me, and had her lie for you. Where?s Troy? Did you turn him against me, too? I made you who you are. I sculpted you into something cool, something worthwhile. Not that pussy ass you were before I met you. Before me, you were nothing?I made you, and I can just as easily unmake you. The only way out of the Rozes is in a box, and your membership has expired.
(Damian pulls out his switch blade)
Angela: No! Stop Damian, please stop. He?s not lying.
Damian: Don?t worry, Baby. After all this you will love me. I will make you love me!
(Josh pulls out the knife that Officer Thompson planted on him)
Damian: What are you going to do Josh? Take away my life? Oh wait, you took that, too.
(You?re Crazy?s playing)
(Damian runs at Josh and swings his knife at him blinded by rage and booze. Josh easily dodges the drunk Damian. Damian and Josh both swing at each other several times. Then Damian pushes Josh into the table. As this is happening Troy runs onto the stage)
Troy: Damian stop. Whatever Josh said is the truth.
(Troy tries to get in-between Damian to stop the fight)
Troy: Listen to me Damian! I was with h?
(Damian tries to stab Josh but Troy gets in the way and he can?t pull back his stab fast enough and he stabs Troy in the gut. Troy falls to the floor and Damian drops his knife and falls to his knees)
(The song, You?re Crazy ends)
(Knockin? on Heaven?s Door begins to play)
Damian: Troooyyyyy!
Damian: You were my only real friend man. You were like family, like a brother.
Troy: On my last breath I swear Josh did nothing wrong. I swear it
Damian: Come on Troy! Whose gonna help me run the gang if you die?
Troy: Forget the gang it?s over. I saved my best buddy from dying at the hands of one of his friends, because of that I know my life wasn?t a total waste and for that I will die a happy man. It?s a fair trade? a fair trade?
(Troy dies)
(Knockin? On Heaven?s Door ends)
Damian: Troy you weren?t that dumb after all, in the end you were smarter than us all.
(Officer Thompson walks onto the stage)
(Damian slowly stands up)
Officer Thompson: Oh what do we have here? A homicide? No matter I didn?t even like that kid anyway.
(Officer Thompson looks at the stunned Josh)
Officer Thompson: And a suspect with a knife. Don?t any of you punks move. I am calling for backup?
(Josh falls to his knees)
Officer Thompson: I said no one move.
(He points the gun at Josh and shoots. As he shoots Damian jumps in the way taking a bullet to the chest. Damian drops to the ground)
Officer Thompson: I will lose my badge for this. Damn it!
(Officer Thompson runs off stage)
Angela: Damian
(Don?t Cry starts playing)
(She runs up to where Damian is lying on the ground.)
Angela: Oh my god. Josh call 911!
Damian: Don?t cry, Baby. It will be better for you this way. I am sorry for the way I treated you I was just afraid of losing you .I loved you no matter how I treated you. It was all an act. I just didn?t want to let you go.
Angela: I love you Damian.
Damian: Forget about me Ange and go live a good long life. You deserve better. I?m just sorry that it took me this long to figure it out.
(Josh runs up to Damian)
Josh: I?m sorry man. I?m sorry
Damian: Why are you sorry Josh my man? I almost ruined your life. It?s sad, you know, that it takes the death of my best friend for me to realize that crime and violence can never be a solution to anything. Gangs get us nowhere in life they just provide us with an excuse and an outlet to vent our rage and pain on others. Josh that day you were mugged? the mugger was me!
(Damian pulls up his shirt sleeve the tattoo of a rose is on his wrist)
Damian: Josh, I thought then that you were a worthless nobody, but I was wrong. At least then you were making something of yourself. I am the worthless one not you. My life has been wasted on petty crime and violence. You at least have a future. Don?t waste it like I wasted mine. The Rozes are over, Josh. Good people died for what? A stupid emblem on the back of a jacket? Now Josh my man that?s a waste.
(Josh takes his Rozes? jacket and drapes it over Damian. Damian dies. Angela cries over Damian?s body. Josh gets up and walks off stage.)
(Lights slowly fade as Don?t Cry ends)

He is also better able to get along with people when he gets to knows them better
Officer Thompson- a local beat cop that doesn?t take any crap from anyone. He is strongly against gangs and has no problem ruffling up there members. He was charged last year on the counts of police brutality and almost lost his badge for it now he seems to have a grudge against anyone who crosses his path innocent or guilty.
Scene 1
(Outside in an alley)
(Welcome to the Jungle is playing)
(Josh is walking across the stage with his school bag on one shoulder)
(Welcome to the Jungle ends)
Josh: Man another day down the gutter, wasted?being the punching bag of the disgruntle youth of Downsville High. I can?t believe I let people treat me like that, good thing I am moving. I can get a fresh start at a new school.
(As Josh reaches halfway across the stage someone wearing a ski mask jumps out from behind the curtains and knocks him to the ground)
Mugger: Give me all your money and valuables.
(Josh quickly obliges and starts giving the mugger his stuff)
Josh: Here take my bag, too. Just don?t kill me.
Mugger: Just as I thought?he?s a wimp, too. Keep your crap bag!
(Throws bag back at Josh, and takes Joshes money)
( Josh tries to get up and grab back his money at the same, but falls and grabs and rips the mugger?s sleeve. This exposes a tattoo of a rose on the mugger?s inner wrist.)
Mugger: That?s gonna cost ya!
(The mugger kicks Josh twice in the stomach)
Mugger: That was barely even worth my time. Thanks for the money though, buddy. Maybe I?ll see ya again some time.
(The mugger laughs)
Mugger: What a joke.
(The mugger walks off stage)
(Josh slowly gets up)
Josh: This has got to change. I don?t care the cost.
(Josh yells)
Josh: I have got to change.
(Josh standing in the middle of the stage trembling)

Scene 2
(In Josh?s new school Central High)
One week later on Josh?s first day at his new school, Central High, when he is walking through the cafeteria?
(Josh walks across stage with confidence)
(Paradise City ends)
Josh: I hope this works. A new school. A new rep.
(As Josh is saying this Troy enters from opposite side of Josh, when Troy passes Josh he intentionally knocks into him with his shoulder then turns around and looks at Josh)
Troy: What you going to do about it.
(Josh turns to face him and just looks at him)
Troy: That?s what I thought. Keep walking, you little bitch.
(Josh stands still for a second. Troy gives him a dirty look. As Troy turns to leave Josh turns him around and punches him in the face.)
Troy: What the hell? You?re dead!!
(Troy grabs Josh by the collar and holds him against the wall)
Troy: Do you know who you?re dealing with?
Josh: Do look like I care?
Troy: You must have a death wish then.
(Troy gets ready to punch Josh in the face)
(Damian walks in from behind the curtains on the left side of the stage)
Damian: Troy turn him lose.
(Troy is still holding Josh)
Damian: Troy!
Troy: Fine, but I really wanted to waste this punk
Damian: Troy my man, this punk here has more balls than half this school
(Damian turns to Josh)
Damian: Maybe I was wrong about you before.
Josh: What?
Troy: Shut up. You don?t speak to Damian unless spoken to.
Damian: What?s your name punk?
Josh: I am no punk and my name is Josh
(Troy is about to punch Josh again)
Damian: Troy!
(Troy lowers his fist)
Damian: Now that?s better, play nice kids.
(Angela walks by)
Angela: Hi Damian, baby.
Damian: Not the time baby I got stuff to do and people to waste.
Angela: You still hung up on that gang bullshit?
Damian: And if I am?
(Angela turns to Josh)
Angela: Maybe I should start looking into finding another man who actually has his priorities straight.
(Damian looks shocked and stammers)
Damian: Oh ya and take some of ma meds and hold on to them for me just in case I lose all mine. You know how I can be, Baby.
Angela: Ya I know
(Damian tosses the pack of meds to Angela then she walks off stage)
(Damian glares at Josh then lightens up again)
Damian: Maybe you should chill with us more often Josh ma man. We?re called The Rozes, hell maybe we will even let you join if you can handle it.
Troy: Ya if you can handle it.
(Troy laughs)
Damian: Let?s go Troy. I got things to screw up, and people to waste. Later Josh.
Troy: Later Bitch.
(Troy throws a fake punch at Josh)
(Josh flinches, Troy laughs)
Damian: Come on, Troy.
(Damian and Troy walk off stage)
Josh: Maybe this new school will work out

Scene 3
(The Rozes hangout)
(Troy and Damian are sitting at table playing cards in The Rozes? hangout)
Damian: Read ?em ?n? weep Troy my man.
(Damian drops a king and an ace)
Troy: Sorry I?m illiterate.
(Troy drops two aces)
(Damian throws the cards off the table and tips over the table)
Damian: What did I tell you about cheating me Troy!
Troy: I didn?t cheat you man, why the hell would I do that? It wasn?t even for money.
Damian: True man, true. You know how I get sometimes.
Troy: Did you take your meds?
Damian: No man, they stopped carrying the brand I take, and I can?t afford a trip to the doctor to get a new prescription.
Troy: Man you seriously gotta get those meds or some one you don?t want to hurt might get seriously wasted.
Damian: Shut up Troy. Like I don?t know that?
(Josh enters)
Damian: What?s happening new Roze?
Josh: Nothing much, so this is where you wanted to meet me?
Damian: No we didn?t want to meet you here.
Josh: So why are you here?
(Damian idly sitting in chair)
Damian: No reason.
Josh: What?
(Damian turns to Josh)
Damian: Obviously we were waiting for you. If you want to be one of The Rozes you got to stay sharp and use your brain, except for Troy who has so much muscle he doesn?t need to.
Troy: Come on. Let?s go. It?s time for this little punk to earn his colours.
(Troy and Damian get up)
Damian: Let?s go. Josh Follow me.
Josh: Where are we going?
Damian: To get your colours, man.
Troy: Ya you?re going to prove to us that you are good enough for the Rozes
(Troy, Damian and Josh leave the stage)

Scene 4
(In an ally)
(Damian and Josh walk on stage)
(Damian turns to the curtains)
Damian: Come on Troy, at least try to keep up!
(Troy emerges from the curtains)
Troy: I am going as fast as I can man. Chill out.
Damian: Even Josh is faster then you
Troy: Shut up man.
Damian: Let?s rock this town, Rozes!
(New Rose is playing)
Damian: I love fuckin peoples shit up.
(Damian, Josh and troy start to break things and throw stuff around and play fight)
Damian: Nice! Let?s lay down our emblem on this wall.
(Damian takes a bottle of spray paint out of his coat)
Damian: Josh do the honours. Tag that wall and let everyone know the Rozes were here tonight.
Josh: No problem.
(Josh spray paints the Rozes logo on the wall as Damian and Troy watch)
Damian: Josh now you?re one of us. Your one of the Rozes, now let?s get back to the hangout, and we can get you some proper colours.
Josh: Nice.
(New Rose ends)
(Officer Thompson walks on stage with night stick in hand)
Officer Thompson: what the hell are you punks doing vandalizing private property again?
Damian: No, it?s Rozes? property.
Officer Thompson: I don?t want to hear any of your gang bullshit. You three are under arrest.
Troy: What if we don?t feel like being arrested? What the hell will you do, Tommy boy?
Officer Thompson: Do you know what I will do? I will tell you what I will do.
(As Officer Thompson says this he slowly walks up to Troy, pulling out his night stick till he?s right in Troy?s face)
Officer Thompson: What I'll do is I'll beat your punk ass home crying to your mama. Then I will beat her worse for raising such a piece of shit for a son.
(Troy pushes Officer Thompson back)
Troy: Don?t you ever talk about my mother you pig piece of shit.
(Officer Thompson hits Troy in the ribs with his night stick. Then he hits him again in his stomach and Troy drops to the floor)
Officer Thompson: You see what you get? You hot headed piece of?
(Attitude starts playing)
(At that second Josh and Damian look at each other and jump on the surprised Officer Thompson)
(Josh knocks him to the ground picks him back up and holds him while Damian repeatedly punches him in the stomach and face)
(Attitude finishes)
Damian: This is what you get, Officer, when you mess with the Rozes.
Josh: How do you like it you piece of shit?
Damian: Josh drop him. He's learned his lesson.
(Damian turns to Officer Thompson who is lying on the floor and goes down on one knee and goes right in his face)
Damian: You can?t beat the Rozes. Not you or any other piece of shit in this town. Our name is immortal, and will be carved into the stepping stones of civilization forever. As long as there are people like me around there will always be the Rozes or other gangs like us and not you, or even the goddamned president of the United States of America can change that! The Rozes die when I say Die and not any time sooner. We had a nice little chat, Officer. I hope it sticks?for your sake anyway. Come on Rozes let's get outa here and leave the officer to think over what he just learned. Josh? help Troy up let?s go
(Josh helps up Troy and Troy, Damian and Josh leave the stage leaving Officer Thompson lying on the ground)

Scene 5
(Central High)
(Troy, Damian and Josh are walking down the hallway)
(Night Train finishes)
Josh: Ya know everything seems to be working out.
Damian: What you mean Josh ma man?
Josh: I don?t know. Everything is just cool.
Troy: Don?t you go getting soft on us--that could seriously scar our rep.
(Josh pushes Troy jokingly)
Josh: It?s already scarred.
Damian: Watch how you talk about the gang. You could get wasted talking like that.
(Josh has a shocked look on his face)
Damian: Don?t piss your pants, man. I was just joking.
(Damian grabs Josh by the shirt, and pulls out a switch blade)
Damian: I wasn?t joking, you fuck! If you ever talk bad about the Rozes again I will gut you myself.
(Troy pulls Damian off Josh)
Troy: You gotta chill, man before you do something you regret. Man how long have you been off your meds?
Damian: About a week. I need them. I need them so bad it isn?t even funny.
(Damian starts to sob)
Troy: Let?s get him outa here before he makes a scene.
(Troy and Josh start to pick up Damian)
(Damian shrugs them off)
Damian: I can handle myself. What do I look like to you? A kid or something? I just really need ma meds. I don?t know how long I can last without them. Here comes Angela. I think I gave her some of my meds just in case. Maybe that chick has more then one use after all.
(Black Leather starts to play)
(Angela walks by. All the guys? eyes follow her across the stage)
(Damian hits Troy in the chest)
(Black Leather ends)
Damian: Hey man, that?s my girlfriend.
Troy: I know, man. You can still look at the menu without ordering.
(Damian glares at Troy)
Damian: Angela, baby. You got my meds that I gave you before?
Angela: Oh those. I thought you were joking. I left them at home.
Damian: Hey Baby. Can you go back there, and get them from your house?
Angela: I can?t go right after school. I have a meeting with the principal, and it?s going to be late. By the time I get out it will be dark, and I?ll have to cross the park alone. Do you want me dead??
Damian: Who said anything about after school, baby? I want you to run there now.
Angela: Are you joking? I?m not your errand boy.
(Angela storms off stage)
Damian: What did I say, Troy my man? Sometimes I don?t understand broads.
Josh: I don?t know, man. I don?t know.
Damian: Was I talking to you! Come on, Rozes. Let?s go! We?ll get a 24, and this time I?m paying.
Josh: Where?d you get the money?
Damian: I earned it honestly. What do you think? Use your head!
(Damian knocks Josh?s head as if trying to knock some sense into it.)
(Josh, Troy and Damian leave the stage rough housing)
(Lights go out props are changed for next scene)
Scene 6
(At the Rozes? hangout)
(Troy, Damian, and Josh walk on stage. Troy is carrying a 24 of beer which he puts on the table. Troy pulls Josh aside while Damian is on the other side of the stage paying no attention to them.)
Troy, whispering: Josh! We?ve gotta find Angela and get Damian?s meds. He?s really starting to whack out.
(Josh raises an eyebrow.)
Troy: I mean more than usual. He broke down in tears in the hallway. I know he?s manic something, but I know it?s not usually that bad.
Josh: Why don?t we just break into Angela?s house and get it?
Troy: Are you crazy? You know what Damian would think was going on.
Josh: We gotta try. He?s liable to kill himself.
Troy: True man. True! Yo, Damian!
Damian: Ya, Troy. What is it?
Troy: Me and Josh are just goin? to head down the street to pick up a carton of smokes.
Damian: Alright, man. But hurry up you?re missing out on the party.
(Troy and Josh leave the stage. Damian sits down and picks up a bottle.)

Scene 7
(At Angela?s house)
(Josh and Troy enter the stage.)
Troy: I can?t believe she left her door open. This is the easiest B and E I?ve ever done.
Josh: Come on. Let?s just find the meds and get outta here.
(Troy gives Josh a little push to get him moving, and he knocks into a table where a bottle of Angela?s perfume falls and breaks spilling it on him.)
Troy: Ooh don?t you smell sweet. It suits you.
Josh: Man, quiet down. Someone will hear us.
Troy: Why do you gotta be so paranoid, Josh? No one will hear us. There?s no one even home.
(Angela enters the room, holding a bat.)
Angela: Who?s there?
Troy: Chill Ange. It?s Troy. We?re here to pick up Damian?s meds.
Angela: Oh, they?re just over here on the table. I?ll get them.
(The phone rings.)
Angela: Josh, could you just get that while I get the medicine? It?s probably just a life insurance salesman.
(Josh answers the phone)
Josh: Buddy she?s busy. Phone back later.
(Behind the curtains, Damian?s voice is heard)
Damian: Josh? Josh?
(Josh quickly hangs up the phone looking very shaken)
Angela: Who was that, Josh? A salesman again?
Josh: Worse?it was Damian, and I think he recognized my voice.
Angela: He could have thought it was anyone.
Josh: No he knows my voice.
Troy: We better get back before Damian drowns himself in beer thinking his girl?s cheating on him.
Josh: Alright, let?s go.
(Lights go out props are changed for next scene)
Scene 8
(At the Rozes hangout)
(Aint It Fun starts to play)
(Damian puts down the phone slowly, and drops into the chair. He pulls a bottle of beer out of the box and chugs it. He throws the bottle against the wall and reaches for another. As he drinks he takes a picture out of his wallet, and tears it into little pieces. He continues to drink one bottle after another. He leans back in his chair, and slowly slips to the floor. He climbs back up, tips over the table and picks up the chair and slams it onto the floor. He falls to his knees, and tries to collect the little pieces of the torn picture tears running down his face. He collects all the pieces and puts his head in his hands sobbing. The lights fade as the song ends.)

Scene 9
(At the Park)
(Josh, Troy and Angela run onto the stage looking winded)
Josh: How far are we from the hangout?
Troy: It will be a few minutes but we gotta keep running. Who knows what Damian will do in the state he is in?
(Officer Thompson enters the stage from other side)
Officer Thompson: So off on a little walk across the park with your little lady friend?
Josh: What do you want officer? We haven?t committed anything wrong.
Officer Thompson: You don?t consider assaulting an officer of the law an offense? Don?t worry I got a little present for you. Catch!
(Officer Thompson throws a plastic bag to Josh with an object inside)
Josh: What the hell is this?
(He takes the object out of the bag and it is a switchblade)
Officer Thompson: Okay now no one move or I?ll shoot.
Troy: You can?t shoot us that?s against the law.
(Officer Thompson looks over his arm at Troy who is standing further to the right of the group)
Officer Thompson: Yes shooting an unarmed civilian is against the law, but the switchblade I just planted on your buddy there does not make him unarmed anymore. I could blow him away at will, (Officer Thompson cocks the gun), and all I would have to do is plead self defense and I am off the hook. Even if you testified against me who would the jury believe? A punk like you or a hero like me?
Josh: You?re no hero!
(Officer Thompson turns from Troy to look at Josh again. As he does this Troy charges at him and knocks Officer Thompson?s gun out of his hand and knocks Officer Thompson to the ground)
Troy: Run I am not letting no one get wasted tonight!
Josh: You could have gotten away easy when the gun was pointed at me
Troy: I said no one?s getting wasted and I mean it! Now go!
(Angela and Josh run off stage)
(Officer Thompson Gets back up)
Officer Thompson: You?re dead, punk
Troy: Haven?t you learned yet Tommy boy Rozes never die. Now let?s see how you fight without a weapon.
(Out Ta Get Me begins to play in the background, and as the action increases the song gets louder)
(Officer Thompson swings at Troy who ducks under it. Troy punches Officer Thompson in the stomach, and when Officer Thompson goes down Troy knees him in the face. Officer Thompson goes down and trips Troy to the floor. When Troy falls to the floor Officer Thompson gets on him and pins him down and frees one of Troy?s arms while he reaches to get his cuffs. As soon as he does this Troy punches him in the face, flips him over so he is on top, and starts punching Officer Thompson in the face. He gets up off Officer Thompson and kicks him in the stomach then runs off stage. Officer Thompson rolls over and picks up his gun and points it in the direction Troy left looking desperately for a target.)

(The Rozes? hangout)
(Josh and Angela run onto the stage Damian is sitting in a chair looking worse for ware)
Damian: So Josh. That was a long Trip to get smokes. About 30 minutes too long actually. What the hell is going on?
Josh: I can explain.
Damian: Explain what? Why you were doing my girl behind my back! I would love to hear that explanation
Josh: It?s not what you think. You gotta chill, man.
Damian: Don?t tell me to chill. Wasn?t it your voice on Angela's phone when I phoned to invite her over for the party?
Angela: That was my dad.
Damian: Nice try baby but if it was your dad why would Josh smell like your perfume? See now, Josh you have even turned my girl against me, and had her lie for you. Where?s Troy? Did you turn him against me, too? I made you who you are. I sculpted you into something cool, something worthwhile. Not that pussy ass you were before I met you. Before me, you were nothing?I made you, and I can just as easily unmake you. The only way out of the Rozes is in a box, and your membership has expired.
(Damian pulls out his switch blade)
Angela: No! Stop Damian, please stop. He?s not lying.
Damian: Don?t worry, Baby. After all this you will love me. I will make you love me!
(Josh pulls out the knife that Officer Thompson planted on him)
Damian: What are you going to do Josh? Take away my life? Oh wait, you took that, too.
(You?re Crazy?s playing)
(Damian runs at Josh and swings his knife at him blinded by rage and booze. Josh easily dodges the drunk Damian. Damian and Josh both swing at each other several times. Then Damian pushes Josh into the table. As this is happening Troy runs onto the stage)
Troy: Damian stop. Whatever Josh said is the truth.
(Troy tries to get in-between Damian to stop the fight)
Troy: Listen to me Damian! I was with h?
(Damian tries to stab Josh but Troy gets in the way and he can?t pull back his stab fast enough and he stabs Troy in the gut. Troy falls to the floor and Damian drops his knife and falls to his knees)
(The song, You?re Crazy ends)
(Knockin? on Heaven?s Door begins to play)
Damian: Troooyyyyy!
Damian: You were my only real friend man. You were like family, like a brother.
Troy: On my last breath I swear Josh did nothing wrong. I swear it
Damian: Come on Troy! Whose gonna help me run the gang if you die?
Troy: Forget the gang it?s over. I saved my best buddy from dying at the hands of one of his friends, because of that I know my life wasn?t a total waste and for that I will die a happy man. It?s a fair trade? a fair trade?
(Troy dies)
(Knockin? On Heaven?s Door ends)
Damian: Troy you weren?t that dumb after all, in the end you were smarter than us all.
(Officer Thompson walks onto the stage)
(Damian slowly stands up)
Officer Thompson: Oh what do we have here? A homicide? No matter I didn?t even like that kid anyway.
(Officer Thompson looks at the stunned Josh)
Officer Thompson: And a suspect with a knife. Don?t any of you punks move. I am calling for backup?
(Josh falls to his knees)
Officer Thompson: I said no one move.
(He points the gun at Josh and shoots. As he shoots Damian jumps in the way taking a bullet to the chest. Damian drops to the ground)
Officer Thompson: I will lose my badge for this. Damn it!
(Officer Thompson runs off stage)
Angela: Damian
(Don?t Cry starts playing)
(She runs up to where Damian is lying on the ground.)
Angela: Oh my god. Josh call 911!
Damian: Don?t cry, Baby. It will be better for you this way. I am sorry for the way I treated you I was just afraid of losing you .I loved you no matter how I treated you. It was all an act. I just didn?t want to let you go.
Angela: I love you Damian.
Damian: Forget about me Ange and go live a good long life. You deserve better. I?m just sorry that it took me this long to figure it out.
(Josh runs up to Damian)
Josh: I?m sorry man. I?m sorry
Damian: Why are you sorry Josh my man? I almost ruined your life. It?s sad, you know, that it takes the death of my best friend for me to realize that crime and violence can never be a solution to anything. Gangs get us nowhere in life they just provide us with an excuse and an outlet to vent our rage and pain on others. Josh that day you were mugged? the mugger was me!
(Damian pulls up his shirt sleeve the tattoo of a rose is on his wrist)
Damian: Josh, I thought then that you were a worthless nobody, but I was wrong. At least then you were making something of yourself. I am the worthless one not you. My life has been wasted on petty crime and violence. You at least have a future. Don?t waste it like I wasted mine. The Rozes are over, Josh. Good people died for what? A stupid emblem on the back of a jacket? Now Josh my man that?s a waste.
(Josh takes his Rozes? jacket and drapes it over Damian. Damian dies. Angela cries over Damian?s body. Josh gets up and walks off stage.)
(Lights slowly fade as Don?t Cry ends)
