How Cowboy And Vermin Joined The Warriors. *FINISHED*

(k, this is my first fan fic. so bear with me. obviously i changed the time line around a bit. i also tweaked the characters personalities a bit.)

Running down the street, Vermin was breathing heavily as he turned a corner, feeling his legs throbbing as they carried him. "Damn punks, think they can jap me and my friends for no reason!" he muttered to himself as he ducked into an alley, holding something under his jacket as he sat down to rest. as his breathing began to relax, he pulled out a pair of roller skates from under his jacket. "this'll show em. once word gets out that they got jacked by some kid, every gang in the city will be looking to beat up on those wimps!"

once he was sure the coast was clear, vermin got up, walking down the street, making sure to avoid the punks. jumping over a fence, vermin walked through the park, seeing an object laying in the grass. walking over, vermin leaned down to examine it. "a fury bat? but this aint fury turf. that can only mean..." "the punks were on a raid, why do you think it was so easy to grab those skates?" vermin looked up, seeing a figure wearing a stetson leaning cooly against the park slide, looking off into the horizon.

"who the hell are you? your not one of them are you?" asked vermin, examing this new guy closely. "do i look like a wimp? names cowboy" says cowboy as he walks over, picking up the bat. "ive been watching you for about an hour now, keeping the punks off your back as you ran." cowboy took a few practice swings with the bat, still not looking at vermin "gee thanks, but why?" cowboy finally looked at vermin for the first time. "you've got something i need, those skates."

(so what do you guys think so far? i know there havnt been any fights yet, but i promise you there will be. think of this as the warriors with a twist)

"no deal man, these skates are gonna keep the punks off my friends backs!" intriuged, cowboy steps forward, holding his bat at the ready as he approaches vermin. "how do you figure that kid?" "well the punks have a heavy rep, never been jacked or japped. if word gets out some kid stole their leaders skates, every gang in the city will be looking to have a try at em, and the punks'll be out for good. as long as they dont screw with me, i keep quiet". a small smile forms along cowboys face, his eyes darting to the horizon as he sees 5 punks, just waiting. "and what  makes you think they wont just off you and take the skates back right now?"

Vermin looks around for the first time, seeing the punks as they give him an evil smile as they start making their way towards him. "oh crap, im gonna get japped!" "just give me the skates and bolt kid!" "why do you want these skates so bad anyway?" "ahhh crap! i'll find you later, keep those safe!"

cowboy grabs vermin, pushing him off down the park as vermin starts running. reaching the edge of the park, he stops for a second and looks back, watching cowboy. a punk runs up past cowboy, towards vermin with a straight razor, but cowboy stops him in his tracks, grabbing him by the collar of his shirt and tossing him towards a second punk. drawing the fury bat, cowboy swings, connecting with a third punks head with a sickening thud. dodging a fourth punk, cowboy takes another swing of his bat, knocking him off his feet.

not wanting to stick around in case the punks win, vermin takes off, running down the street at a full sprint, trying to avoid any punk still out on the street. nearing his place, he finally slows down, breathing hard and sweating as he sees a few of his friends sitting on the stoop to his place. "i got it guys! i dont think we'll have to worry about those punks anymore." "awsome man, nice job vermin!" "is my mom home? i gotta go upstairs and chill for a bit, i'll see you guys later."

Vermin walks up to his room, dropping the skates by his bed as he lays down, not bothering to change as the sweat covers his sheets. laying on his back, looking up, vermin finally falls asleep. an hour or so later, his best friend joey walks into the room. "hey vermin, wake up man! theres some guy downstairs, hes been asking around for you. vermin slowly opens his eyes, looking up at joey. "what? who is it?" "i dont know, but hes got a cowboy hat, and he looks pretty bruised up and pissed.

Vermin walked downstairs, rubbing his eyes as he stepped out, looking around and seeing no one. "hello? is anybody out here?" slowly stepping off the step, cowboy suddenly comes up behind him, grabbing vermin and dragging him into a nearby alley. " hey man, let me go! you cant pull this crap in my neighborhood!" cowboy throws vermin against the wall, holding the fury bat up against his neck.

"im done playing games kid, now give me those damn skates!" "i dont have em... the punks got em back man!" cowboy grabs vermin, throwing him against some trashcans, sending vermin to the floor on his back. "now, tell me why i dont beleive you! ive been keeping your ass alive all night kid, now give me those skates!" cowboy walks over, holding the bat over vermins head, his knuckles clenched. "aright aright! theyre in my room, i'll go get em!"

10 minutes later, Vermin walks out onto the stoop, holding the skates in his hands. "here you go man, i hope you know you just condemned this whole neighborhood to a life time of punk raids." "you brought it all upon yourself kid, well, thanks for keepin these safe for me anyway, i'll see you around." "yea, whatever."

with a tip of his hat, cowboy took off down the street at a leisurely pace, finally having the skates in his possesion. Vermin turned to go back inside to let his friends know what happened. but before he can go inside, something caught his eye. a single punk emerged from an alley across the street and took off in the opposite direction from cowboy. "a scout, i hope that cowboy hatted freak can handle himself... long enough."

cowboy walked through an old parking lot, close his destination when he saw punks emerge from the side of an old building. "im done with you freaks, bolt before i have to show you whats what!" the punks just started laughing as cowboy suddenly felt a strong thud on the back of his head, knocking his hat off as he sank to the floor. his vision gowing blurry, cowboy can barely make out a punk with a tire iron before blacking out.

Cowboy woke up an hour later, dazed with his head throbbing. shaking his head, he looked around. he was sitting on a bar floor, surrounded by punks. he tried to get up, but frealised he was tied up. "let me go you wimps! i'll take you all in by myself!" a punk walked over, knife in hand, and crouched down next to cowboy, wearing the skates around his neck. "you put us through alot of crap tonight kid!" the punk spit in cowboys face as the rest of the punks started laughing.

cowboy struggled to get free, but felt a sharp sudden pain spear across his cheek as the punk runs his blade over cowboys face. "just be glad your still alive you cowboy hatted freak. at least you will be until we figure out the best way to dispose of you." cow struggled for a few more minutes, but finally gave up, realising that this was his end and it was useless to
struggle.

the bar door suddenly burst open as vermin walked in with his two best friends, joey and ash, all 3 of them carrying lead pipes. ash and joey jumped into the group of punks, pipes swinging as vermin runs up to cowboy, untieing him. "what are you doing here?" "hey, i owe you for bailing m out at the park dont i?"

vermin helps cowboy up and hands him his fury bat. a punk runs towards vermin, trying to tackle him but is knocked out cold as vermin swings his pipe, connecting with his head. cowboy spins around, dodging a punk and sending him flying into a table as he swings his bat. fatally connecting with another punk in the throat. vermin jumps on another punk, bashing his fists into his face. looking up just in time, he yells "hey look!' and points to the lead punk whos running out  the back door.

leaving ash and joey to finish up the punks, cowboy and vermin spring up, chasing after the punk leader. sprinting through a back alley, cowboy and vermin run as fast as they can, jumping over garbage cans and bums as they finally catch up to the punk. cowboy throws the fury bat, connecting with the back of the punks knees, sending him sprawling to his stomach.

the punk rolls onto his back, groaning as he see's cowboy and vermin standing over him, breathing hard, trying to catch their breath. vermin turns to cowboy with a wicked grin "so, figured out how you wanna 'dispose' of him?" says vermin, mocking the punk leaders voice. "yea, lets keep it simple." with that, cowboys picks the bat up, swinging it way over his head, and bringing it down with a disgusting, bone crunching thud onto the punks face.

running up through the alley, joey and ash join up with cowboy and vermin standing over the punk. vermin turns towards ash, "howd you guys fare?" "pretty damn good man, not a punk standing!" smiling, cowboy walks up to vermin. "thanks alot for saving my butt back there. names cowboy." cowboy sticks his arm out as vermin shakes it. "friends call me vermin. so now that were even and this is all over, mind telling me why you want these skates so bad?" "come on, i might as well just show you guys." cowboy grabs the skates, leading vermin, joey, and ash out of the alley.

about an hour later, they arrive under a peir, the 4 guys walking up to 6 warriors waiting on the sand. cowboy walks up to a black warrior in a head dress, handing him the skates. "here ya go cleon, i got the skates". "aright cowboy, youve proved yourself, your a warrior now." "thanks cleon, but i couldnt have done it without these guys. vermin, joey and ash." "hey man, you guys were able to jack and jap the punks. that aint ever been done before. as far as im concerned, your all warriors. welcome to the family!"
