I saw it yesterday. You're right Turnbull, this two last episodes do not explain half of the mysteries from the series! There appears to be two main camps (and many factions therein)
Camp one = all dead on island
Camp two = only dead in sideways universe
I lean heavily towards camp two, as well as agreeing with most of the sentiments of this highly informative article:
