what are your thoughts on john terry being the new captain
i think it was great he was selected because he is such a great leader

hmmmmm i don't know :doubt:, i think lampard or possibly ashley cole wold of been better choices for captain.

Steven Gerrard excels as a captain... it makes him play better...

not to say that John Terry isn't a good captain... but Stevie is better IMO

would have preferred beckham to have stayed on ,but as he dosent want to its not possible but i would like to see steven gerrard take over ,

I'm happy as larry with JT been captain, I wanted either him or Stevie G because they are their club captains and have won trophys in the past 3 year unlike Beckham who isn't captain at Madrid and isn't insperational at all and hasn't seen a trophy in a long time at the galacticos.

Well I have just watched the communiy shield match and well Terry couldn't get is team going who had all thei best players apart from cech and cole with liverpool resting Stevie G and still winning. Well it looks like Caragher should be captain instead of Terry hahaha well done Liverpool!!!

terry is not a strong enough driver of the team, nor is he respected enough to be captain, someone who knows the team better, like gerrard or even ferdinand would have been a better choice

your joking right john terry was always going to get it because how influential he is and how well hes done with chelsea plus hes england best defender and gerrard hasn't been anywhere near his best for england and the captaincy would have put too much pressure on him.

I'm happy with John T being captain. I want Steve G to concentrate on being Captain of Liverpool and hopefully taking us close to Chelsea

true... but John Terry hasn't been at his best for england either...

i always believe that it should be a midfield player like Gerrard who should be captain... someone who runs from box to box... who covers the whole field

Cubs your chatting bubbles. we can tell your a chelsea fan and I agree wih you about how good he is and Englands best defender but he is no way as good as Stevie G who with out a doubt his Englands best player and I know loads of you will disagree with me but Stevie G is the best player in the world and if you disagree with me look at the champions league final and how inspirational he was to all the liverpool team.

Gerrard is one of the best but not the best
and you cant say gerrard is better than terry when they play in different positions
terry proved why he is captain last night against greece scoring the opening goal.

gerrard would of made a great captain but even if i wasnt a chelsea fan terry would be my choice

I don't know a great deal about football - well I kinda do, but take litlle interest in it unless it's international....for that reason, I do happen to know that Terry scored last night which is good enough for me.

David Becham was a dismal captain, he did nowt for us in the last world cup. I agree with my man Journey Steven Gerrard plats alot better when he is captain, and he did wonders for Liverpool in the last few years. I would of give it to him, but thats just what i think. Maybe this is a good move for England.
All we need to do now is get rid of that Sven.
