This thread is to talk about proffesional boxing. My fav boxer is juan manuel marquez, i also like marco antonio barrera, rafel marquez, eric morales, umm, I used to like oscar de la hoya too, but hes getting annoying, because he thinks hes too pretty, and is always is covering u his face, so it wont get messed up. :doubt:. Basically i like mexican boxers, those guys fight till theres nothing left in them, im not saying other boxers are good, but i think us mexicans boxers have that thing in us wen we wont back down :p :p

. So i just bought the Barrera vs marquez fight on pay per view, and im looking forward to the de la hoya vs mayweather fight. So come on guys, talk it up.. I rarely make topics now! 8)
This boxer is bad!! 8)

my favorite are mexican boxers to not just cause im mexican but how how they fight , my favorite is salvador sanchez, man was he the best light wieght champion ever, its sucks that he died in 82 at 24 while he was the light wieght champion because of a car accident, he would never get messed up in fights, maybe just a cut but he would beat the hell out of his opponent. my fav match is when he fights alfredo gomez, salvador wins the match by ko and gomez fell out of the ring, gomez was purto rican and he would always talk trash about salvador and mexicans, so salvador got him back in the ring.
ill try to find the fight on you tube and put it on here so you can see how alfredo the trash talker gomez gets his face kicked in

My
Ahhh.. yes salvador sanchez. what a great fighter, i also watched that fight man, i have it on dvd. Talking about old school boxers., how about julio cesar chaves, man was he good!!.. Mexican legend. And to think that julio cesar chaves before retiring fought oscar de la hoya at the sunbowl stadium just 20 minutes form my house about 10 years ago!! HERE AL EL PASO TX!!

. It sucks that i was just 6 at the time, and my dad sayd the prices were off the roof also. So swanjax, what new boxers do you like?(not old school, lol)

Mexican boxers are little but quick and strong. I also liked Salvador Sanchez & "Pipino" Cuevaz, and maybe "Maromero" Paez. Others (not Mexican) are Roberto Duran and Hector "Macho" Camacho.

Don't get me wrong those fighters are great fighters but, the best lower weight fighter (Under welterweight) is Manny Pacquiao.
Morales only won the first fight because he would let Pacman have his punching gloves. Look what happed when he did

yeah i saw those fights. Im glad to know theres at least one people here that knows abut pacquiao and morales. hey fox did you see the pacman vs juan manuel marquez fight? It eneded in a tied, cuz juan manuel marquez got knocked out by pacman 3 times in the first round, but then marquez took control of the remaining 11 rounds. Anyways theyre is going to be a rematch between marquez and pacman, either that or another rematch with barrera vs marquez, which they fought about 3 weeks ago, but barrera didnt like the judges too much so he might want a rematch before retiring.

Yeah i think the Pac/JMM was a fair result.
However Pac Man is now entering his prime and the rest are satarting to get on(I can't believe i'm saying that there my age

) So i think he will be the man for a couple of years.
I hope De La Hoya shuts Mayweather up. I think it's on free TV in britain but, i imagine it's a disgusting price over there?

The Contender series 3 starts tommorow people ITV4 at 9 o'clock!!!!!! Its the Uk vs USA should be interesting. I think its the best fighters from series 1 + 2 fighting a handful of British fighters. Coached by Sugar Ray Leonard and Barry Mcguigan.

Love a bit of 'Big fight Live' on ITV, it's the place you finally realize that the Brits, NEVER lose.

i dont watch too much boxing but i saw joe calzaghe defend his title against that cocky american from the contender. that american really annoyed me because he kept saying he was going to crush joe even after the fight when his nose was all swollen up. i also have a few lennox lewis fights on tape, he was a great boxer.

That fight was rubbish, It shouldn't of been stopped. Calzaghe was throwing alot of punches but most of them wern't even hitting Manfredo. If i was in Manfredo's position i would be realy peed off.

YEAAAAAAAAAH!!! Mine too!!!
He was, to me, THE BOXER!!! Yeah of all boxing history!!!
Too bad... he also was a... how could I say... "strange" human being?!!!
I mean, I understand he had a very hard childhood... and this could be the explanation of his future life, not sure the cause... anyway he's the strongest!!!
Without his odd episodes, he would still be The Champion... an old Champion, but still The Champion!!!
His matches were AWESOME!!! 8)
