Re: Grand Theft Auto 4 trailer
Who ever said "you cant judge a book by its cover" was a bright bloke and that saying is true to this game. You never know, this game could totally rock your socks of twice as hard as any other gta game!! Then again... maybe it wont.
.
But i aint gonna knock it till i try it

Re: Grand Theft Auto 4 trailer
To all the people who are saying this game will suck because it's too different from the previous games, let me tell you a story.
It was the year 2000, and the world was reeling from the copout that was Y2K. Everyone was recovering, and the game magazine presses were hot. "Playstation Two announced!" they screamed at all who looked. However, within those pages was another announcement. "Grand Theft Auto Three to be released on the Playstation Two!" it said.
The first pictures began to circulate. People looked in awe at the amazing graphics that awaited them. They devoured any info on the game they could find. However, there were others. People who looked at it and said, "Aw man, a 3D GTA!? This is gonna suck, it's way too different from GTA2!"
As more and more info came out, they grasped for any straws they could. Any feature of the game was bashed by them, any trailer was met with boos and insults. Mail flooded Rockstar telling them how much the game would bomb because it wasn't 2D.
"The fangirls were screaming and the fanboys were howling
All around the internet every night
There was a man on MSN with a rumour in his mind
And a hate shining oh so bright
There was evil in the data and anger in the posts
And some retards on the rage filled sites
And on the GameFAQs Forum where the morons were rising
Oh I swear I saw a young boy
Running his mouth off
Getting flamed until he was beat"
Ahem.
Anyway, the game went gold. It was distributed to the retailers, and the world waited with baited breath for the release date. The night before, the forums were more abuzz than usual. Flamewars abounded between both sides. Half said the game would rock, half said it would be a miserable failure. Bannings abounded everywhere, some people registering multiple accounts just to get in on the fighting after a ban. Midnight came and went, the early hours of the morning passed, and the stores opened.
You know what? THE GAME WAS F*CKING AWESOME. It was quickly known as the best game on the PS2, and sold millions upon millions of copies. The people who had been formerly arguing that the game would suck were snatching up copies like it was going out of style. They loved every second of it.
Now children, this is why we don't judge things based on preconcieved notions and minute long teasers. Do you want a repeat of that? No? Then wait for at least more info to come out. You heard them, "Things will be different." Trust Rockstar. They haven't let us down yet.

This is exactly what all the people who opposed a 3D GTA said. "It won't be the same!" No, it won't be the same. It will be better.swan_jax wrote: but you have to admit its not gonna be the same with out the old graphics, i wonder if we could still fly cars and all that other cool stuff.

Re: Grand Theft Auto 4 trailer
Someone on another forum transcribed the Game Informer article on GTA4. This game is going to rule.
I'm attaching it as a .doc file, as it's too long to post. Damn length restrictions.

The main character looks like a kickass Eastern European human smuggler to me.warlord jp wrote: Are u kidding me? the main character looks kinda lame.
Re: gta4
i know what you mean man, he doesnt look as intresting as the others. like in the commercials for gta 3,vice city and san angreas you already know the main character is a bad ass for all the stuff he does. the only gta 4 commercial out right now sucks, it doesnt even show you what you could do, just the city and the character standing next to some building. if this is the only commercial for it than what a crappy commercial.warlord jp wrote: Are u kidding me? the main character looks kinda lame.

Re: gta4
I don't know what all of you are on about with him being a boring character. According to the Game Informer article I posted in the other GTA4 thread on this forum, he is an Eastern European who came over to America in order to live the American dream, only to be thrust into a life of crime. That's a hell of a lot more interesting than "YO SUP MAH DOGS IMA COME BACK FROM LIBERTY CITY TO REENACT EVERY GANGSTA MOVIE EVER!! BTW, GROVE STREET FOR LYFE!!"
Also, he is likely from former Yugoslavia, judging from his name, looks, and accent.
Honestly, I don't know why you are all passing judgement. There is almost no info out, a one minute long teaser, and a ton of fanboy speculation. The game comes out in October, plenty of time for them to release all the info on him. Slow down a little.
Oh, and swan_jax, the commercials for the other games you refer to all came out about a month before the release of the game. Look around for the first ever commercials released for all three of them and you will see they were all similar. Landscape shots, vehicle shots, pedestrian shots, and not very much else. Again, calm down. You'll get your action filled commercials closer to the release date.
