Lines on sigs, avatars, etc.

on many of the sigs these days they have the lines going across diagonaly. how do out those on your sig while trying to make one?

Well I use a sunburst effect to get the lines. Not sure how other people do it?

I make a 10x10px image with a transparent background.

Then I add horizontal black lines 1px thick.

I then create a new layer over my picture.

Then I paint/fill over the picture with the image after rotating it 45 degrees.

I then adjust the transparency of the layer to the correct tone.
