i believe your using some kinda air brush tutoorial, and i think your headed in the right step but you need to work them further, try using your soft brush's more on the lighting areas, as they still look like a real photo just with blur added to them, i have seen some of these air brush's and they can look really nice with enough work put into them, good luck

thanks for the tips toon but its not air brushing ive just been using the blur dodge and burn tools but i am intrigued by these air brushes do you know where they are available from? thanks again and i will try and develop them further.?

do you use photoshop? what you wanna do is, use a air brush in your brush section with a soft tip and then play with the settings
also work with your smudge and blurs more
look up some tutorials online thats how i started

here is one i did
its about 5 layers
done with diffrent blures and blends
then i used my dodge and burn tool
and a very very little bit of white air brush soft tip
