Thank you Vermin76 u have the exact same point of view as me, i didnt listen to anything past the black album (not many did) but thank you for saying Whisky in the Jar was a poor cover song, although thin lizzys one was a cover it was an original in a sense (the actual original was an irish immigration song... i think). all my mates say metallica's cover is better than the 'original' but there aint no chance in hell of that, even the Corries cover of it was better

I loved Metallica for a bit there.  Master of Puppets for sure.  I just never got over the Napster issue.  That spoiled them for me.  Lars looked so lame to me up there, a multimillionare, crying about his money.

you know i loved em, big luth!!!

hell!!
kirk, and i, used to swap comics book's, back in the mid 80's.
my mom used to have an antiue store, when i was a teenager.
and she used to come across all these old comics.
and kirk, was a comic book freak!!

first time i ever met him, was outside the U.I.C pavillion.
we were outside messing around, after the show, like the thousands of other people!! LOL
and we had made a "ride the lightning" banner, a big one, out of the biggest bed sheet we could find!!
and kirk, and lars, were stuck in traffic, on they're way to a radio interview!!
we were crossing the street, in front of them, and lars sticks his head out of the car, and says, "BITCHIN BANNER"

so, needless to say, we stopped and talked to em!!!  :D
it was the coolest thing, ya know?
i remember the next morning, waking up for work, and thinking.. "did that really happen"
LOLOL

and then the next time they were here, i took some comics with me, to get backstage.
(i had read kirk was a comic book nut!)  ;)

and sent a couple backstage, and told the guy, to tell him i had more.
and it worked!!
he had the dude come back out, and get us!!  :D

and we hung out, and he took my number.
(i told him about my mom, and the old comics!)

and for the next 2, or 3 years after that, every time they were in Chi. he would give me a call, and there was always 4 tickets, (good tickets!) and 4 backstage passes, waiting for me.
as long as i brought comics!! LOL
hewey, dooey, and louie, donald ducks nephews, were his favorite!
i know, weird!

i used to have a bunch of pix, and probably still do, somewhere.
the ex, threw a lot of em out.
(an ex-girlfriend, in the pix)

but, i'll see if i can find any if em, and get em scanned.  ;)

and on another note, after cliff died, it was all over.
Tried to give the devil my soul...
She said i had nothing to bargain with...
