Anyone know any bands, singers, music that the gang's of New York during the 70s listened to?

Any ex members or current members of 70s gangs on here ?
Always curious about that.

Thanks in advance for anyone who replies :)

I'm not a gang member or anything but in my opinion I think that they had been listening to Soul, Rock and Funk music.

Superfly has Curtis Mayfield doing the soundtrack. Freddys Dead , Pusherman and Superfly are the best tunes of the movie. It was made in 1974

Black Caesar whose about a drug lords rise in fame in the streets of New York City isnt so much a gang movie but a kid whose tormented by a white racist New York City cop and grows up joining the mafia and in charge of the drug scene in harlem. He wages war with a rival itialan gang anfd builds a criminal empire.
James Brown does the music for it.
James Browns THE BOSS plays as Tommy Gibs is shot while crossing some New York City street cornor in busy manhatten. Nobody comes to his aid. People just walk right by him.
It was made in 1973.
