bands that influenced you

i don't think anyone has done this post so here goes................
what bands or singers influenced you and why
for me it was the jam ,paul weller used to right songs about living in late 70's early 80's britain and all though i listened i wasn't sure if he was speaking the truth or just making it all up,but boy with songs like when your young,billy hunt,town called malice,in the city,a-bomb in wardour street and the sublime thats entertainment i realised as i progressed through my teens that the guy was spot on.if you've never listened to the jam then go get a copy of their greatest hits and also if you can get hold of a copy try and have a listen to thier classic album ALL MOD CONS,this album was wrote around late 1979 early 1980 and the songs on it still stand up today.

For me Joy Division & early New Order hands down .
Nice one on The Jam as well , what a great band i've only seen video of the shows but damn! that type of energy just can't be beat....amazing.

The stone roses were my biggest influence, from there music and videos to there clothing and personality

The band that influences me (currently) is Marilyn Manson! I am still pretty young, and I have a long time to allow them to influence me even more. Just hopefully it doesn't get too out of control. But I am not gonna allow myself to become a goth, though, because I don't consider Manson himself to be gothic.

ACE FREHLEY, not KISS ace frehley lead guitar player of KISS, he is waaaay too good for KISS. he influenced me to play guitar and to be an egomaniac :badgrin:

anyhow i must have over 30 influences/fav bands but they are the best.

KISS is the best! Always. Ace Frehley is the best lead guitarist ever! Has anyone so successfully mixed blues and metal? I think not. I can remember air-guitaring to Destroyer when I was like 7 or 8. My concerts rocked!!

I'm actually going to their ALIVE 35 tour in July. Tics cost me $276 CDN for two of them. But I don't care. I wish Ace and Peter were still with them, but it's still gonna be awesome!

Of course The Beatles and Metallica are in influence mix, too.

Aww Sweet! Children of Bodom are a good death metal band.

Lets see bands that influences me is...
Psyclon nine and Dawn of Ashes....Its industrial music actually.

Unfortunately they dont have info for music happening for my birth date at This Day in Music.

Also, I really cant think of a pop song that really influenced my life off the top of my head. Im sure something will hit me like a truck tonight.
