Why do you like your music?

I know there are lots of different musical tastes around here, rock rap, and my favourite music, techno. But I was wondering why it is that you like the music that you do. I like techno because I realy like the beats in it and it has alot of bass. It also get the adrenaline pumping, and no other music makes me like that. Your thoughts?

I like rock for many reasons such as the storytelling, guitar riffs and the emotions in the lyrics and vocals.

I like alternative metal along the lines of The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Melvins, Fantomas and basically anything Mike Patton related. I like it because it truly sounds unique. You can tell it's a, for example, a fantomas song. Also because these particular musicians have mastered so many different styles of music, from feel good rock to shrieking death meta, you don't find widespread talent like that very often.

Also, because it's very non-mainstream. It doesn't hold the same kind of beat and melody in one song and in fact each song almost sounds like 2-3 different songs fused into one. Listening to a whole album is like being taken on a roller coaster that has had all the other rides combined into it, there will be times when it's slow and melodic, times when it's crazy and chaotic, times when it's steady and up beat and eventually the ride stops and you almost feel exhausted in a weird way. I love it.

When it comes to other music I like which is generally alternative rock such as Nine Inch Nails, Nina Rochelle and A Perfect Circle. I like them because of the sheer musical genious and beauty. You can really feel the emotion of the song. It's not just something you hear, it's something you feel. You get so into it and all the above bands have excelent lyrics that go along with the excelent musical talent.

I like listening to music by The Who, The Beatles, Oasis, The Jam, The Rolling Stones etc... I listen them because they qwrite the most amazing songs... Lots of songs for different moods, no matter what mood i am in.. Happy, sad, angry i can always find a song that will make me in the best mood ever.
