i no we have an overrated part but we dont have an underrated bands section (or artists) so here goes.
I personally find Journey to be a hugely underrated band as they are just friggen amazin Steve Perry is an excellent singer and they didnt really get the reognition they deserved.
I also think Motorhead r supremely underrated. A lot of people i no just go like "Motorhead... bluh... heavy metal nonsense" but they dont get praise for their finer hard rock/blues tracks and people cant get past the fact they effectively invented what is now known as speed metal.

I truly think Atmosphere could change the tide of current hip hop. I really don't care much for all the latest MTV  hit of the week which all sound like they've been mass produced from the same factory. Atmosphere sounds unique and more thoughtful and deserves some of the spotlight.
It truly amazes me that Mike Patton is not world famous yet. He's mastered so much music! He's the brainchild of 4 bands, he's made 9 albums in collaberation with other artists, 2 solo albums and over a dozen guest appearances on tracks with other artists nto to mention that he has his own record label.
He is nothing short of a musical genious but I guess I can understand why he's (and his bands) not famous. Lets face it, only a certain kind of music can become popular today and it's all public frendly generic styles. Not to say that all of it is bad, but that it's the only thing that's accepted. A shame really, because Mike Patton has mastered music in general, and he deserves kudos for it.

Hey Journey, your right Steve Perry had (has) such a amazing voice. Magic.
Stickwarrior, a 13 year old liking Styx how cool is that. Good old stuff and listen to what you like, starting to realize just how many tastes there are in music (after reading many posts here) and screw it, if you like it then by god its good.

Mike Patton is known around the world and has got some cred, at least from me - Phantomass are great.

Third Eye Blind is extremely underrated. Few singers have written words as powerful as those of Stephan Jenkins. They have a unique style that's great for just hangin out, or whatever else you wanna do.

Not really a band but I find the Kottonmouth Kings underrated. I bet half you don't know them. Haha, anyways, I think I've overposted, but please forgive me, I have a real bad sunburn and I've been on this same website for about the last nine to ten hours!
