Luther , (DPK) is a very busy character actor who also does ALOT of theatre. One, I doubt he was that interested and two, I doubt that he had the time.

He actually eats at the restaurant in manhattan that my sister manages and he is polite but REALLY doesn't like it when fans approach from what she says. I'm amazed he did the dvd documentary actually.

She says he's polite but just wants to be left alone. Can you imagine how many times people must have said, "WARRIORS! Come out to PLAY-AY!" to his face over the years? Sheesh!

Vermin should have been EZ too. maybe he just didn't have the time too.

I'm still blown away that they got Waites. He sounds great, too. My first thoughts were, "Wow, they got a great sound-alike!"

Well Luther is a rather successful character actor nowadays and even though he did the new dvd doc. that probably took one day. How long would the game take?
All this talk about David Patrick Kelly and his not lending his voice to the video game, got me thinking...I'm pretty sure DPK has voiced a video game before. Sure enough, he lent his talent to a 1996 video game called Ripper. Christopher Walken, among other familiar, also participated. Granted, that was nine years ago, but it is too bad that DPK could not contribute his talents to the one video game which would seem to be tailor made for him.

And, yes DPK is one of the more successful of the cast members of the film, but certainly no more than James Remar. DPK would seem to have some mixed feelings about The Warriors as it did get him into movies, but it also put him into a certain mold as a film actor.

It is in the theater that he has done his more rewarding (not monetarily, I'm sure), varied, and artistic work, but as a film actor, he mostly plays a character ranging from slightly unhinged to downright loony, usually on the wrong side of the law. So, I can see where he might say enough is enough. Still, he could've said those magical words one more time, couldn't he? :D

yeah, i feel rather dumb starting this topic since most of the cast DID reprise their roles...the trailers just show the "odder" choices! heheh
