well from what the game tells us cleon and vermin seemed like good friends best friends infact so since virgil hated cleon he probably hates vermin to he just like cleons warchief if you like i dont mean warchief of the destroyers or of the warriors i mean just like his own little group of frineds if you get me

I think it's natural that Virgil would hate anyone who's close to Cleon. But Cleon and Virgil were genuine friends once, Cleon even says that they were like brothers.
I wonder if Virgil was once a decent guy, maybe when they first started the Destroyers, then either because of his drink problem, or power of being the boss just getting to him he gradually turned into the delusional backstabber we all know. Or was Cleon just too blinded by the friendship he thought was real to see Virgil for what he really was, until Virgil turned on him.
Maybe Vermin saw all of this before Cleon did, so Virgil decided to get rid of him as well. We know Swan saw it, which is why he left way before, and Cleon tells Swan he was right about Virgil.
