Damn straight - your last comment sums it up. I have no problem with the Warriors game or the language it contains. I probably would be the last to say it as I am a "minority", and I have heard all the names and was even picked on while in grade school - but political correctness is an unfortunate ideal foisted upon society. I've been called a racist term recently, but it means nothing to me - it's just a word, has been for years. Doesn't change my lot in life nor my circumstance in society.Scurvy Dog wrote:You're kidding me.stevo2k6 wrote: yeah, at school its wrong to call a black board a black board and its illegal to sing baa baa black sheep, racism is taken to seriously
Then again, I can see this. When I was in school, I remember sitting on the floor with my legs crossed. We all sat in a circle, and it was called "Indian Style". I think know they call it sitting in the lotus position.
How many schools still have a blackboard? Don't they mostly use whiteboards (markerboards) now (which is not racist)?
What about the following words? Are any of these racist?
Chinese checkers
blackout (electrical), brownout (also electrical), whiteout (blizzard)
whitewash (paint white)
At the grocery stores, they now refer to the aisle with Mexican food as Hispanic food. Since when is the word "Mexican" racist? It refers to someone or something from Mexico.
Political correctness will be the death of our language.
Good thing that there's a couple of people here at my work in Toronto who don't mind saying the words "eskimo, native indian", others frown upon it.
Rockstar created a fantastic game - my one knock on it was that there wasn't more free roam involved. Other than that, my favorite game to play.
