big problem in the ajax household,with only 12 days to go 'til the BIG RELEASE my PS2 is broken,i'm gonna try and repair it but if i can't what should i do(see my poll)
come on you guys (and girls) help me out

get a second hand one man not owrth buying a brand new one with ps3 out like in a year or so

Try sending it in to Sony. When my disc lens took a poop, I sent it their way and got it fixed (no charge).

Judging by the options you listed in your poll, it appears you're happy with the PS2 and have no desire to switch to XBOX or anything.

If that's the case, and you plan on getting a PS3 anyway when it comes out, you should go to a video game shop like EB or Gamestop (not sure if you have those in the U.K., but you should have something like that) and get a used PS2. It will have been thoroughly checked out and will have a warranty so if it craps out in a few weeks you could bring it back.

Stores like that also take used DVD & games as trade towards the price, so if you have any laying around that you don't use anymore, thats also a good way to save money.

Then, when the PS3 comes out, you can trade in the used PS2 towards the price.

i'll probably be doing the same thing, grabbin a used one. mine crapped out last week.
yeah "some guy" musta broke into my house, was playin my ps2, and got mad at it an kicked it!!! and it broke it!! LOLOL

i still have an xbox, which is what i'll play the warriors on, especially since i can burn the original warriors soundtrack to the hard drive of the xbox, and have the REAL music in the game.
but i gotta get another ps2, so me and jamie (the fox) can play madden on-line!

We one in da same ajax. My PS2 been broken for about 1 year now. but my bro gona get a new one at the end of the month and buy the game too for me. Maybe ull get the same luck!

yeah, i guess they're clearing inventory, or something!
i used to be a fixture at gamestop, till we moved!
now the gamestop is about 25 miles away, and eb is about 3 miles away!

how about another option like, go swap your old PS2 for a new one, thats what i did when mine broke.

its kind of dishonest, who am i kidding, its hella dishonest but heres the deal. go to a bestbuy or some other store that gives you a cash refund. buy yourself a new PS2 and pay in cash. make sure to mention to the cashier that its a gift for your nephew or something and you might have to return it later that day since not sure if he's got a PS2....basically make small talk so she thinks you're a nice guy and remembers you.

by now you're asking, "well the box is sealed, how am i supposed to open it without breaking the seals?" once you get home, just take a razor/knife and cut the underside of the box nice and neat(there shouldn't be any seals on the bottom), slide everything out, swap the consoles(keep the extra controller and cables if you really want to be a rat), place everything back and glue the box shut(make sure the lgue you use works on cardboard) and take it back to store of purchase and get your refund...VIOLA! brand new PS2. 8)

incase you're wondering if they can bust you for this, they won't open the box if all the seals are intact. the only thing they check is to see if the serial number is visiable. they don't scan or keep track of the serial number so even if it isn't the same, they won't know.

if youre that desperate mate get a 2nd hand one to tie yoyu over for the time being.
