I dont really think the game is relevant to the movie, but why the destroyers? On the original script theres dozens of gangs that didnt have parts in the movie. Why didnt they just use one of those instead of making a completely new gang?  Your Thoughts

im guessing they wanted an original gang that they could make to what rockstar wanted, and besides the game wouldnt be as good without good old virgil boppin away

I think also casue the Destroyers were in Coney soo maybe they wanted a gang near the Warriors.

But thats up to your imagination.
I mean they couldnt have wiped out all the destroyers, Im sure there could have been at least nine remaining 

I think they should of really put their real rivals in the script The Mongrels it would make it more into the story before the movie.

Exactly. I mean the Mongrels didnt make it into the script, so why didnt they put them in the game? People these days. 

Does it really matter to you?  Even if Rockstar knew about The Mongrels and decided to put them in for the 50 or so people who would notice such a thing they would have made it the exact same way just with a different name.  The Mongrels isn't a very good name for the dominant gang in Coney anyway in my opinion    It brings up images of a gang like The Orphans.

And of corse they couldnt have wiped out all the Destroyers members, but thats not the point.  They wiped out the Destroyers as gang by taking out their leadership and much of their numbers, in essance forcing them to disband.

Fans of the original would have hated the fact that an imaginary gang was killed. (If they wrote fan fiction or drew a picture of them.)
