my favorite author is Donald Goines because he write about the street life and his writin style is unpredictable;anything can happen at any time in his books and it be well written. Most of the main characters die at the end but its the wat they die that make it crazier :) i like all his books but the one that stood out is "Daddy Cool" :D 8)

Darren Shan is my favourite, he writes really creepy stuff!
you should really read the saga of darren shan (12 books)
and the demonata series (3 are out right now)

Yeah Anthony Horowitz' books are good, although they seem to just have an entertaining story line, I wouldnt say theres anythng special about his writing.

I'd have to go with William Nicholson or Mark Haddon. Great stories and both have very unique styles of writing and give amazing detail.
