I read about the battle of "Alexander and Darius in Issus".  It depicts the battle between Alexander and Darius III, king of Persia, at Issus in 333 B.C..  Alexander is seen on horseback, recklessly leading his troops into battle.  Darius is shown in his chariot, already turning around to flee from the enemy.

These writers came up with some interesting stories.  I wonder how they came up with these.

'Hector', the username I chose, I actually named after the famous prince of troy that was unfortunately killed by Achilles in the Trojan War.

They sure did Lions.  Well, if you think about it most if these stories were based on the adventures that took place during their time.  Normally while on a journey, they normally wrote down the expierences they had.  Sometimes a story can be exaggerated, because of the supernatural events, but some are based on the paths they took in life.

Indeed, you are completely right.  I know their journeys would last for months or even years, so they had all the time in the world to write all these stories.

Yeah guys, their days... were years!!! Ulisse, 4 istance, came back home after 20 years!!!
Anyway I read Iliade (Troyan War), Eneide (Enea from Troy to "Italy"), Odissey (The Great Ulisse), De Bello Gallico (Giulio Cesare's conquest journeys), Anabasi (Ciro-Cyrus the greek against the persian empire) , and all mythology tales about all those Gods and their vicissitudes. 8)
