John Carpenter would do it pretty similarly but it might be more epic and intense maybe with some stalking.
Coen Brothers would probably focus on just 2 guys getting back from the conclave like swan and ajax and there kooky relationship
Scorsese: "as far back as I can remember i always wanted to be a warrior" :p
What if The Warriors was directed by someone else?

Abrams/Zucker/Abrams - who brought us the Airplane! movies, The Kentucky Fried Movie, and Amazon Women on the Moon - that would make it a pun-filled raunchy comedy.

Not exactly following with the formula of the thread, but I wanted to share it anyway.
M. Night Shyamalan - Laughable dialogue, and a twist ending where all of NYC turns out to be a constructed, controlled environment by a mental hospital and all of the gang members are really delusional mental patients.
Michael Bay - Explosions, explosions, and did I mention explosions?
Stanley Kubrick - Lots of phallic imagery, more emphasize on the bathroom fight, and more black humor.
Tim Burton - NYC looks all Gothic and twisted, the outfits are even MORE outlandish, music by Danny Elfman, Johnny Depp as Luther, Helena Bonham Carter as Mercy.

What about Ethan and Joel Coen? Something very strange would have happened.
