Going to Coney next month! Any NYC forum members want to meet there?

Alright boppers -

As some of you know, I have "extended family" in NYC, so I do try to get out there at least once a year. I will be in the Big Apple over a four-day weekend next month, and a trip to Coney is planned, since it appears that by then it will be open for the season, at least on weekends.

I know there are't too many of you in the NYC area, but I do know there's a few. Any of the adult forum members out there down for a mini-gathering in Coney? I am going either way, and, for the record, will have 2 or 3 other people (adults) with me - (non forum members).

If anyone is interested, reply to the post. I will post more details closer to the date.

I PM'ed you yesterday, because by the time I had seen your response, I had used up my five posts for the day. However, because this raises an interesting point, I will also reply publicly.

I consider anyone 18 or over to be an adult. The reason for this restriction is because I want to make it clear that I am not trying to meet and/or corrupt minors in anyway. (Actually, I'm not trying to corrupt anyone.) I have and will continue to chat with people of all ages on this forum, but when it comes down to actually meeting someone, I believe it is wrong for an adult to meet with a minor they met over the Internet.

This is just an unofficial get-together and say "hey" kind of thing for those over 18 who will be in or around Coney on Mother's Day weekend.

Don't worry Scurvy Dog.  I understand why your being careful, with todays low lives and all, its hard to find a decent person.  Sometimes I am really busy with my college work, I hope I can make, I am 18 by the way.

Well, I would simply hit the board walk.  Its funny, although at times it gets dirty, and bum infested, it has its peaceful moments.  Just like the movie describes, the city can be miserable and dangerous, but at times have its rare moments of peace and clarity.  So simply walking on the board walk, and staring at that hypnotizing wonder wheel alone can be enough.

Umm... my vacation was almost a month ago. But I'll be going there again to see the city at Christmastime, probably in early December.

I wouldn't be surprised if I ended up moving to NYC. I love that city.

Not sure what you mean as I was talking about a few years ago, but I'm always up for a cool Coney/Warriors gathering. Bring your cameras, don't forget that mural!

Definitely, always up for it, it would make a cool picture to post on the site too, a whole bunch of forum members standing in front of the mural. Board members, it's gotta be this summer for the classic Coney because it gets gutted, let's get it together baby.
