you know when your at the hangout, you see the other warriors smoking, why do you suppose rockstar made them smokers, they didnt smoke in the movie! your thoughts?

oh no im sorry lads, this was supposed to be in the games bit, my mistake people im sorry clicked wrong one without realising

Well if you think about it, throughout the whole movie they didn't really get time to stop and smoke since they were constantly running and fighting for their lives. Hardly the right time to spark up.
Thing is they are all really good runners and were doing so for 75% of the movie so they were more active than smokers but then again it was the 70's and smoking was still pretty fashionable so some of them probably did smoke but were just really fit.

Maybe the designers had read the book. It mentions a few of times of them smoking and carrying cigarettes as part of their war party ritual.

If they weren't smoking, they would have had to make them do other things which would take more programming time. They made them smoke because it gives them an excuse to stay in the same place.

i actually like that answer, because you see them talking to other warriors but when they are alone they are smoking, good answer to my question

Actualy if you notice in the game, they are smoking more than just cigarettes, many are smoking Marijuana.

What makes you say that?

How could you possibly tell that? You don't get a close enough look to tell if its a cigarette or a roll up. Sure we know they use drugs, You have to take Coke to improve your health for god sake!

The truth is that it's a too "delicate" matter... in the Game our Warriors "use" drugs (Life Level), and in the hangout other Warriors smokes... but it's only a Game designers choice... in the Movie they not even smoke a cigarette. Even if I think real Gang life was... I mean... they, and only them, knew everyday Gang "life".
Anyway, yeah, talking about the Game, it's impossible to say they smoke a "marijcig". 8)

I guess it's better having the characters doing something, rather than standing there and doing nothing.
