The Music Gangs Listen To

Post by Luther828 »

I don't know if this is the right place for this topic and it's quite a random question but what music at the time do you think the gangs were in to.

I could see The Satan's Mother's being into Heavy Metal and The Boppers being into boogie and stuff.

What do you think about the other gangs?

Good Topic man, and yeah, this should be the right place.
I'd see The Warriors being just into this Song (more than into a kinda Music).

For the Turnbull A C's:  "Gotta go" by Agnostic front.  I always think of them when I hear that song.

Lizzies: I think Blondie would fit into their tastes

The 70's was a brilliant period for music development.  Motown was still going, black sabbath were creating the heavy metal scene and hip hop was in its infancy.

I see the Rogues listening to Motorhead,Sabbath, and for some reason Judas Preist :?:

The Riffs and Boppers would listen to Rick James,Run DMC,Disco,Motown.

The Furies would have to be Kiss fans and most likely Motley Crue.

The High Hats would listen to techno pop like Devo,B52s,Cars,and maybe the Ramones,Cheap Trick

The Lizzies would listen to Pat Benatar,Girlschool,Bangels.

The Punks would be 50s Do wop fans.

The Electric Eliminators would like that Rocky (Eye of the Tiger) Top Gun. You can do it if you try kinda music.

The Warriors would be playing The Who,Aerosmith,Zeppelin,Rolling Stones,CCR,Pink Floyd.

I dont think The Orphans had a stereo,Radio,or Record Player

Wow, you've really put a lot of thought into that post!
IMO the bands you've put for the warriors would be better with the rogues and the rogues choice's going to the Satan's Mothers? Just a thought.
Also IMO The Warriors would have more of a varied range of music, rather than just one type. Some disco, some of that stuff you've put, some boogie? Stuff like that.
If anybody disagrees or has different ideas, make sure to post them!

The Orphans probably would have listened in on whatever jam session was going on in somebody's basement or garage.  Or they would have hit the alleys to find whatever junk they could to start their own band.  (I'm sorry. I'm sure there're a few Orphans fans out there.  Don't know.  Just checking.  No intention of stepping on toes.)

The Orphans as band    8) I like it. They could play with garbage can lids, coke bottles, and other homemade insturments. J/K  There are many Orphans fans out there, they just won't admit it.

Uh-oh.  You don't suppose Luther was an ex-Orphan? (clink-clink-clink-clink-clink......  )

That reminded me of the latest Budweiser commercial in the Uk. If you haven't seen it, here it is:

And canyoucount's comment, very funny.

There wasn't much of a connection there but what kowolski said about the playing with garbage cans, coke bottles and other homemade instruments just reminded me a little bit about that ad. Cause the drums and stuff being played with the bud bottles and most of those instruments looked kinda homemade IMO.

Every time I listen to Don’t Stop Me Now by Queen I think of Luther before the Conclave, driving the Rogue-mobile and singing with his unique voice:

"Tonight I’m gonna have myself a real good time
I feel alive
And the world is turning inside out
I'm floating around in ecstasy
So don’t stop me now
Don’t stop me
Cause I’m having a good time
Having a good time…"
