I will be making a trip to visit some "extended family" in Manhattan next week. While out there, we will be making a trip to the big C.I.

Can anyone who has been to Coney recommend exactly what to check out? From what I've heard there are several different amusement parks. Is there a difference? Which one has the Warriors billboard?

I do plan on checking out the ocean - no recommendation needed there.

There  is  actually  one  main  amusement  park  and  that's  astroland .  That  has  the  wonder wheel ,  go-carts  etc . The cyclone roller coaster  is  a  must  and  there's  a  minor  league  ball park  also .  As  far  as  the  Warriors  billboard  on  the  bath house.  That's  gone.  The  bathhouse  was  demolished  some  time  ago . The  building  was  right  up the block  from  Nathan's  on  Stillwell  Avenue.  I'ts  a  hot dog  stand  now  and  i'ts  called  the  grill house.  The  Bowery  is  still  there . That's  where  the  rogue's  followed  the  warriors.    The  train  station  was  completely  renovated  and  done  over.

The  Bowery  is  just  a  little  Street  that  goes  between  the  amusement  rides. As  far  as  the  billboards  go  there  where  some  sign's  in  the  subway  at  Union  Square  but  they  are  gone. I'm  not  sure  but  the  one  in  Coney  might  still  be  there.  There's  also  a  souvenir  store  up  the  block  from  nathan's  on  Stillwell  Ave  that  has  some  warrior  tee shirt's.    Enjoy  your  trip.

Trust me all you have to do is go to the booth of any subway station,
ask for a map,they are free
and find Stillwell Avenue,and than you will be truly home

Thanks for the photos, they are really cool. I like the derelict photo of Playland and your photo of the Wonder Wheel is probably the best one I have seen - very clear!! The wheel looks a bit incomplete to me as some of the cars are missing.

Wow! Those are real cool pictures. I really like The Wonder Wheel pic, The Cyclone pic, and all the boardwalk pics. I really like the picture of Nathan's.
