when the gang first started up, they probably just tried a bunch of different ideas and logos and settled on the best. or they had members in the gang come together for different ideas and just started putting them together or something.

Each little part of the patch means something. Some gangs have different parts that describe their personality. For The Warriors,The wings symbolize freedom, like a bird being able to just fly away, and the skull means that they welcome death or they don't fear death.Although the top of the skull is on fire,it might mean "death through hell" which is a saying,I have no idea what it means though.

I think sombody at paramount just ripped it off from the hells angels.  But its so cool, so who could blame them.  Anyways the movie never explains how they got the logo.

thats right my brotha

the hells angels MC own the rights to that logo and thats why the new game and figures featured a snake and flames instead of a skull with wings.

It might also be a good way to get yourself wrecked, depending on what gang/club/organization you're ripping off. I know this is a fictional account, but on an episode of Law & Order, a kid was killed for wearing a motorcycle club's colors (his girlfriend that he was about to break up with "gave" him her ex-boyfriend's jacket [who happened to be in that club] as a "going away present" ).

I am guessing that whoever does the "colors" for any particular group will typically only sell those colors to actual members of that group.
this is infact the case. infact alot of the time the people doing it might be members of the club themselfs (like the club my fathers a 35 year member of and one of the orginal 12 of it) and from what i understand its alot like this all over. they are done by somone very select its for sure not just them walking into a place and saying "make this"  :p

You mean people who make special clothes. That has to cost maybe around 500$ or so depending on the
design. Well i'm sure if they give them the money and do it, its not really the designer thinks. Should just
keep to them selfs and not ask. :| Alright thanks for yall help, didnt want to waste another post saying Thanks, so i'll just edited this one. Thanks for the help. :D

Who knows what the symbol means.  Symbols are like gateways into the soul.  Each has there own type of story to tell.  Its like a journey that is described all in one.  It tells a story of ones own lifetime, and deals with their most inner thoughts.  Sometimes its not as simple as intimidation, and looking cool.  Its something you have to contemplate on, and represents the aura of the warriors.  We really do not know about the past of the warriors, and how they started.  But the symbol, is a philosophical path in life that they chose to follow.  It represents the foretelling of their destiny's and each experience is rolled up into one giant symbol.  So we would have to actually have to have a more descriptive passage on their lives.  But we know the symbol, must of been chosen wisely.
