Why I admire the Warriors.

I want to tell you all why I admire the Warriors. Before you read my reply I want you to know that im not encouraging gang violence whatsoever.

Now. I admire the Warriors because they didn't use guns(Very seldom they would use guns). Unlike guns  they would use their fist or bats, chains, etc. Most gangs today use guns just for the hell of it and use them to resolve their probelms. I think thats p*ssy.  Thats the main reason I admire the Warriors.

Back in the 70s the Revolver and 357 magnum were popular back then. Thats just incase your wondering why Luther didn't wanna waste cyrus with a 9mm or a Rocket Launcher! :D

Well does anyone agree?

Okay, now you've got the image of Cyrus getting knocked off his platform by a rocket stuck in my head.

And yeah, I guess they're admirable for that. The simple fact is though that it's easy to admire them in a movie. They're portrayed as heroes, or anti-heroes at least. They're meant to be the guys you're rooting for. In real life, I would not be able to admire them at all. They're criminals, it's as simple as that. It's all fine and dandy to go "OMG they are so awesome!" when you're watching them on screen, but the second that crosses into the reality of gang violence, they're the same as any other street punk.

Sorry to be a downer, but that's the truth. In real life, they'd be no more admirable than the crackheads that hang out outside my dad's house. However, in the movie, they are awesome and we're supposed to like them. As such, I like them. :D

Very interesting point.  I think we see(I do anyway) the warriors as modern day ancient warriors.  They had a more honorable lifestyle.  They weren't perfect, but yet they were men from a different time.  To d what they did, and come out on top, while being underdogs, is very remarkable.  Its as if the movie depicts them, in a devine intervention sort of way.  They did the impossible, against a mad, and confusing world, and showed who they are as people.  I think that why we admire them.  They are the unique, but everyday people who made it through the ultimate journey.  Good point.

**Edit : But as the first post says if you look at it in the aspect of gang violence, etc its not too cool and nothing to admire,But these are The Warriors where talking about here  ;)**

They may have used guns if they had got the chance, But they upheld the truce and didnt take any to the meeting, Which is quite admirable but they where in the same boat as everyone else, The Rogues however didnt uphold the truce, In that case shouldnt all the gangs there be seen as admirable for not using guns.

does anyone know if The Lizzies where at the meeting. Because i dont think they used guns at the meeting, they would have had time to get back to there hangout and get loaded up.

Yeah, but the point i was making is that they knew the guns where there and they had access to them.

Hmmmm and Stevo ive seen a stevo2k6 account and stevo2k7 account. Are these both you?

Because if so your still posting on the 2k6 account that means that you could have 10 posts a day, 5 on each account  :doubt: But then again if your 2 completely different people then i apologise :D

dude, first of all, i 100% agree with ya bro! like what i think everybody here thinks, real men fight with their fists, cause they got the balls to do it... just to share my thoughts, i admire the Warriors because of its late seventies setting(old school baby!), and basically, the warriors! im telling ya, i really really admire them, and maybe i want to be like them! not as in a real gangster but just like them to show my respect to them. ;)

and now im a bopper!!

What I admire is their determination. The whole night they're getting into fights left and right, losing their comrades and except for some complaining, never once did they sit down and talk about giving up. Vermin said "We've come this far, we're gonna go the rest of the way" and they did just that.
