Complete Furies costume?

Post by Orphan Leader »

Hi folks--
I am brand spankin' new here, first post. Like many of you, I have decided this is the year I will finally be a member of the Furies. Now I know this topic has been probably discussed endlessly around here, so I appologize in advance. I did a search of the forum and many of the details seem outdated or mixed. I see this site sells the jersey, but I am in a time crunch due to travelling, and would prefer a rounded-up set, or quick links on the web to stuff. I am thinking this list would include:
  • Black leather hat
Wig (my hair is too short)
    Jersey
    Pants
Fake baseball bat (so I can get into the bars)
face paint--  I have a local shop for that, but does anyone havesome good stills I can model from?
...anything else I am forgetting about?

thanks so much for any help or suggestions you have.

Well, this site sells an official-looking baseball Furies jersey.  The pants would be an easy match, many online sports retailers here in the states sell them.  The color is simple Ash w/ Black Pinstripes.

Note- in the interest of full disclosure, I am the retailer that supplies the Baseball Furies jersey that is sold through this site!

yeah, I can post pix after Halloween. So far I have gotten the jersey (actually from Mondotees--thanks Mondo, its nice!), the wig off eBay from a place in Hong Kong, the black leather hat and a realistic plastic wood grained baseball bat. All I have left is the baseball pants. What I thought could be a cheap costume is turning out to be pretty spendy, but oh well, it'll be worth it. The next problem (its a good problem nonetheless) is picking which facepaint design to go with. I think I may just go with the design of the leader, since I want people to recognize what I am and he's the most recognizable as far as exposure.

I know u already bought the stuff orphan leader, but for others here in the states you can get pretty cheap plain pinstripe baseball uniform from a sporting goods store and maybe buy on ebay the patch or if a-1 still sells them here:  http://a-1americanflags.com/patches070.html

I dunno just a thought.

We're currently working on adding pants to match our jersey.  I've seen a lot of white w/ black pinstripe jerseys and matching pants on-line...but you should know that's the wrong color!  The Furies uniforms were grey!

Alex I have a question for you. Were the original Furies jerseys silkscreened like yours? Or were they embroidered patches sewn on?  I would like to purchase one, but I want it to be as close to the originals as possible.
Thanks

As far as I can tell (and trust me, I've watched the movie way too many times) the logos were silkscreened on.  I don't think the filmmakers wanted to spend money on embroidery if they didn't have too!
