from what i understand this is still in the works, the hold up now was due to the board members undecided on how this should look. however, it seems to be pretty clear now exactly how this should look from the patch to the jacket, so it should be on its way

It is the jacket without the car trim down the side. Black cuffs, etc. We have a really good patch too. Tri, this should be a slam dunk now for SATANS MOTHER. He should have all the info. Plus, Jim sent me close-up shots of the whole jacket (inside and out), so have SM contact me for them (I lost his email), if he wants them as reference.

In the meantime, i'm still planning to make a larger patch. Going to make this one two layers so the moon and star stands out more. I would do the same with the silver part of the lettering, but that depends on what free time i've got and wether my patience can last that long.

Question for you guys: What color should the zipper and zipper pull be? Black or white? The pictures of the "up-close" WATKINS CORVETTE JACKET that Mr. Watkins sent, both are black, but I have also seen it in white. I know the sleeve cuffs are black. Also, what should be on the sleeve? Just a black band, or a stripe of yellow down the arm connected to the black band? On this LOBBY CARD:



There is no yellow band. I want to know so when I find a WATKINS TOUR JACKET (I am really determined now after talking to the man himself), I can mod it.

There's only a single black line that goes vertical on the moonrunners jacket. Same goes for the one in the foxes movie and in the pic in the blog link. Moonrunners have a grey/silver zip and pull (non chromed)

Next question: What would members who are buying this jacket, prefer on the sleeve? Black funeral type armband or yellow safety type armband? I'm under the impression that the yellow is worn by the warchief/warlord.
Personnaly, I prefer the black. Ideally, the replica jacket could come with a seperate yellow band that could be attached over the black if the recipiant so chose.

I was thinking the war-chief had the yellow as well. I prefer the black too, with the option to mod it. I would be fine with just the black band, correct jacket (trim zipper pull and all) and the NH COMICS art for the patch.

I think that jacket was for the boats in the BOND film MOONRAKER. I think it was released in 1979 too. Looks like Mr. Watkins had his hand in a lot of films that year.

Also, if someone wants to mod a jacket, then this is for you. I personally want a correct jacket:

As I wait for either a correct WATKINS jacket (that doesn't cost an arm & a leg) or for SATANSMOTHER to make a jacket, I picked up the below jacket off eBay for a great/cheap price.



I am going to mod it and add BLACK sleeve cuffs, remove the MERCURY from both sleeves. I'm going to add the BLACK and YELLOW bands to the arm (I contacted both the BLOG writer and Jim to make sure I get the correct materials)and paint the zipper and pull, or get a new one that is the correct color. I am going to attempt to make a home-made patch but I am open to one of you fine patch makers being paid to make me one (hint-hint). I'll post my progress. Any other modifications you can think of??
