Well, A Mondo is a great value and good quality with good sized patches, but the patches arent accurate, but then again neither are A-1s. A-1 vests are good quality too, butthe patches look too small on the vest. Its a tough descision but i would go with Mondos. I hope this helped

I sent AlexFugazi (owner of mondotee's) a set of Patches, so the patches on the mondotee's vest will be updated soon... I also heard he'll be working on the arm hole issue, of tightening them up. Charlloots makes great vests, A-1's look great and so will the mondotee's ones.. so it really is a personal choice.

I am waiting to see the new mondos version. But I like the challenge of making it myself (meaning i am cheap), so maybe I might just make my own.

Hello-
I haven't received the patches yet, but I'm already out of Mediums and Larges from my initial order of 240 vests!
The only problem is we won't have them back in until after Haloween! The new design will bring new challenges, but I think I'll be able to pull it off and still sell the vest for around 150.00.
I'd love to get all 3 styles of vests together and put them side by side to do a serious look at the differences between each one!

Looking forward to the new vest Alex. I like my a-1 but the patches are just too small for the vest IMHO....

The patches should arrive by Saturday or Monday. Can't wait to see how the new vests look.

A-1 have since addressed the size issue on their patches and have made them larger for the ones they sell now. I had originally planned to put my warriorcleon patches over the top of a-1s like SHM did, but as you can see, thats no longer an option.
As it stands at the moment, i would say A-1 has a slight edge over the others, but i think that may change before the end of the year. My advice to anyone thinking of getting a vest is to wait a little while untill everyone has their new vests up for sale. Way up the options on which one YOU think looks the best and how much money your willing to part with.
Happy shopping boppers

The color on the A-1 vest looks darker than I thought. Looks good, real good.

Thanks for posting that Ninth Deligate. That is what I was planning on doing, but was a bit worried, as I knew Dale's patches had went through quite a few changes. I have had 3 A-1 vests in my posession, and the patches were different on each one. I am hoping that Mondo's new patches are nice enough, and big enough to cover the old stitch holes on my A-1, as I would rather have the old patches removed, and not patch over patch.
*I should note, that the last vest I ordered from A-1 had the nicest patches, but that was purchased for my brother. The one I currently have is the second vest I bought, and the patches are pretty nice, except for the teeth, and the eyes are off a bit.

Yeah, i know what you mean about the teeth. Im not that keen on the oversized horns either. Ive made a start on modifying my existing A-1 patch using acrylic paint. I shortened the horns and put a black border around the yellow of the eyes. Filled in the lower jaw a little so the indentation is not as deep, changed the shape of the nose from a triangle to an inverted heart. Ive made a start on the teeth, but theres only so much i can do by using paint. I added an underline on both sets of teeth and blanked out some of the yellow of the wings. Its more movie accurate than what it was when i first recieved it.
You can see in the picture below, the original shape; but its only noticable close up. It dont look too bad from a couple of steps away. Its only in the undercoat stage at the moment so im not too woried about neatness at this point. Needs a few more coats. Its also stopped it from fraying. Im thinking of finishing it off with a pale cream mixed with a touch of metalic gold so that it picks up the light. Im still not 100% on wether to fill in the diamond trim or not.

Hey, nice modifications Ninth Deligate. So the teeth on yours were straight lines, and you painted them in pointed? Looks good. The one I bought for my brother had corrected pointed teeth. I so wanted to switch patches with his. lol

Has anyone had the warriorcleon patches sewn onto a vest? It looks like it might be difficult because it doesn't have the black background/border, which means more intricate sewing around the wings and flames.
