if they worked with the cops then all the gangs in nyc would be dead becuase the riffs killed the rogues at the end so no its a terrible theory because the cops would be lookin for anybody in colors if even one cop got wasted

I knew what you were saying SD and I agree with you, but this is some good introspection. I had never considered in depth such a theory, but obviously Walter Hill felt like there was some importance to show Luther talking to someone on the phone. It's almost like he's expecting us to automatically know what was going on behind the scenes, but to be honest with you I'm a little confused about the whole thing and just don't really know what the think about the situation.

What makes you think that Masai is in on it?

....and what about the gang member that comes to tell them about the Rogues committing the murder of Cyrus? I just can't put the puzzle together mentally. I've read over your previous post, but could you explain it again SD...your conspiracy theory that is? I mean who was Luther talking to and what did that have to do with it, how was the mob connected, and what about the gang member coming to tell the truth...I mean that looked so innocent on Masai's part and he looked legitimate in the way he handled things on the beach at the end as well? I just don't think Masai was in on it because he just seemed to sincere to get whoever it was that killed Cyrus...

The Mafia and police yes because they both had incredible motive because the gangs were wanting to run them and be in control.

I have posted here about a cospiracy theroy before. I agree with Naniwa. BTW nice avatar

Luther says he shot Cyrus for no reason. Or for kicks.  The rest of the Rogues knew about when they hand down the gun. So it just wasnt one guy acting alone.  There was something in it for the Rogues?
When the Rogues are at the candy store when Luther makes the call to (the boss) he says (were set) as if to say were gonna get paid for having done the job. Now all we have to do is get to the Warriors and finnish the job.

The motive for the police even if they were crooked or not would be to stop Cyrus in anyway they could.  A leader like Cyrus would be hard to get close to.  They would need a inside unsuspecting character to get close to Cyrus at the conclave. The police spotlights do offer cover for the Rogues crime.
If the police were to shoot Cyrus outright there would be mass gang riots. So they needed a scapegoat rival gang alabi

The motive for the Rogues would be power, cash, turf, immunity from a crime they commited,

There were police who worked with the Riffs maybe there were police who worked with the Rogues.
This would also explian the police presence at the subway terminal on the Warriors route

HHmmmm  Maybe there was a second gunman on the grassy knoll

Im gonna write a fan fic called Luther's Reason. I have been working on it for awhile.

Did you ever see the SNL episode with William Shatner telling a bunch of Trekkies who were asking him obscure, far-out questions to "get a life". I have to wonder if Walter Hill would tell some of us (me included) something like that. If he'd say "It's only a movie I made 30 years ago."
I remember that episode of SNL  That has to be the funniset SNL episode ever. Episode #34 the Evil Kirk  I can imagine a Warriors cast convention where we all ask Ajax questions and James Remar tells us to get a life

I could see James Remar saying that in a joking manner, but I think he knows he is very lucky to have been part of such a special movie also.
