What up Warriors!
My name is Mike and I have the priveledge of seeing the movie when it first came out in 1979.  Our local mall showed it every weekend as part of the "midnight movie madness" thing.  I must have saw it 10 times in a row!  We initially went to see it because our high school is called the Warriors. 
Now, I'm married with children but still pull the DVD out every 2 weeks or so to watch my fav movie!
Has anyone ever read the book?  It's so much different than the movie.  Also, I heard that there's an alternate beginning somewhere.  Is it possible to buy a copy of this? 

Hey man welcome to the forum, Yeah I read the book recently and I thought it was pretty good, and I agree that it is very different from the movie. I honestly view them as two seperate stories because of all the differences, and to answer your last question there is an alternate beginning that was cut from the original movie but is sometimes played in the television version it can also be seen as a deleted scene on the Director's Cut DVD
