Review #4 Halloween 3

Ok seeing as I enjoy Horror films you can bet I enjoyed the first Halloween movie.

Halloween  by John Carpenter was one of my favourite slasher movies, I especially loved the ending where Micael Myers gets shot like six times, falls off a balcony, and then when Dr Loomis looks over he's gone, I LOVED that. Now with a cliff hanger like that there was indeed a sequel Halloween 2 was good but IMO not as good as the original, but it was needed to continue the story, Michael Myers gets burnt and we are lead to believe he is dead.


Now John Carpenter didn't really want to continue with the series, hence Michael Myers dying, in comes Tommy Lee Wallace with a whole new concept, what if there were different stories to Halloween movies, it didn't have to be about a slasher. Halloween 3 in short was about a company that made evil Halloween masks that killed children whenever the commercials were aired, now how did it kill them, well there is a strange stone in the back of these masks, and the commercial tells all the kids at home WITH silver shamrock masks, to "watch the magic pumpkin"

the magic pumpkin then activated this strange thing in the mask and it killed the children and weird stuff would come out of the masks, like bugs or snakes.

Now watching this movie I actually like dit, it said it didn't have to be about a mad slasher who killed everybody in his path, I mean think about it, how many slasher movies have that concept, ALOT.

Halloween 3 though was basically in a word crucified by fans, they rebelled against it madly as they expected Halloween to be all about Michael Myers and they couldn't accept the change, that's where it all started going wrong.

Now the third installment actually had a good story to it, it had it's cheesy moment what movie doesn't. Again it had a cliffhanger ending with the good guy of the movie who wants to stop the killings from happening, on a phone telling TV executives to stop the commercial from being shown.

The third channel however, had not stopped showing the commercial and it ends with the most overacted lines in history.

"The third commercial, it's still on, the third channel, please you've got to stop it there isn't much time, please stop it, stop it, STOP IT, STOP IT, STOP IT.....STOP IIIIIIIIIT"

I mean WOW....if you can act a line like THAT you NEED to make it at the end.

The film however was forgotten about and the story returned to Michael Myers and Halloween 3 became the Halloween that never happened. Unfortunately after this film it all started going downhill, with movies like Halloween H20, Halloween 6, and the one where all them college students spend Halloween night in the Myers house (forget which one that is)

The fans demanded Michael Mers and got total garbage because of it, if we accepted Halloween 3 who knows what could have happened, maybe it would have been successful, maybe not, but we'll neve rknow as it reamins to be the Halloween that never happened.
