Registered a few years ago (BTW, when did the forum change to this new version?), but failed to introduce myself properly.
From LA, have lived in several different cities and countries, but now back home in East Los. First saw the movie in the early 80s and have been a fan ever since. Me and the boys used to watch it on a Friday or Saturday night before going out to cause trouble (damn teenagers!)... hehe. I own both versions on DVD (as I'm sure most of you do), and I've even dressed as a Furie for Halloween when I was a kid! Got to meet Mercy once at a screening of the movie..... in a graveyard no less! Same graveyard where Johnny and Dee Dee Ramone are buried (which I always thought was wrong.... they should be buried in NY).
Anyway, I'm fascinated with NYC of the 70s, and The Warriors is the ultimate version of that gritty 70s utopia IMO. Must've been a great place to live in the 70s. Not like the candy coated version you see now when you visit places like Times Square.
