New bloke intro/Warrior statue

Post by mikehill »

Hi All

Great site! First saw THe Warriors on pirate video back in 1981-ish.I was 12..it really had an effect on me..Ive been a die-hard fan since.

Im a sculptor model/maker

www.mikehillart.com

I am intending to create a lifesize Warrior statue..Ajax.

Ive been looking at the repro vests plus the original on Ebay..but the patches on the Ebay one do not match the movie. The one 'Rose Clements ' has on here, matches it exact. Not sure if its worth paying 10k if the patches arent real..any thoughts?

I think the ebay vest is worth the money, even if the seller paid a lot less than he's selling it for. The patches authenticity are debatable, but you wont find any reproduction patches that are a closer match.

Vintage belt buckles that are identicle to the one Ajax wears, pop up on ebay occasionally. I think the hardest thing to get accurate are his gloves, as there's never a clear close up.

Thanks ND

But thse are closer I believe..the thickness of the letters and the black border..no?

As far as Ajaxs gloves go,if we cant see how they look, then I guess no-one can..so something similiar might suffice in this case. What exactly does he wear on his feet? Any ideas?

If you're going for life size replica; those patches are too big. The thickness of the lines between the feathers are way off as well. They're ok if you don't want to splash out on custom order replica patch though.

No idea with the footwear. It's either some sort of boot or hi-top sports shoe.
