Warriors fan film

Hello again,

I must say that I'm a bit dissapointed at the response to my posting about a Warriors fan film. I also don't feel very welcome on this forum as a result of the lack of interest. However Mr. Turnbull was very kind in answering my post about the Ajax belt buckle. He mailed it right out to me, and all he wanted in return was good ol' American candy. Now that kind of deal is un heard of around these parts. He was very polite and has made a friend of me, and I have nothing but respect for the guy. Not knowing me and putting a rare buckle in the mail, no questions asked. Now that is a Warrior! :D

Onto the point of this post. I and a very good friend are seriously putting together a Warriors fan film that will truly be a credit to the original, and be a very nice companion piece. We are looking for fans of the Warriors to participate in this project. When I say fans, I mean fans. Without true fans there will be no love for the project.

We need Baseball Furies, 10-20 people or better if we can. If you have a costume perfect. If not we are getting a special deal from satans mothers. 3 costumes for $120.00. And ofcourse you get to keep it after filming, as it will be yours. The costumes are high quality.

And we need Riffs. Ofcourse you have to be black to be a Riff. We need 40 -60. This will not take place in the 70's so dress should be appropriate for now. Look your best and bring that Riff attitude with you.

The film will be shot on location in Coney Island, and places throughout the city. For those that live in Jersey and cannot make it to Coney, we will be using Asbury Park as a sub location.

We also have a gang that is bigger than the Riffs that will be trying to snuff out the Warriors and friends. We would like atleast 100 for this gang. We would like all white if possible because of who they are in the story. The clothes for this gang is black army fatigues.

This is going to happen people. The one thing that I have to tell you up front is that it is a totally non-profit film and nobody will get paid. The only value here is that a very good movie will be made, that is a promise.

We need local NYC Warriors fans to help make this a reality. If you are interested please contact me chilly dog,. or Vermin.

You'll get used to it: I had about, oooh, 1 response to my kind invitation for anyone to join me for a screening of the film in London and that was from Warchief himself. So don't get disheartened. We're a useless bunch.

I also don't feel very welcome on this forum as a result of the lack of interest.
Ah, don't take it personal: there's probably only about 1 active New York members on this forum (right Forni?). Having said that, don't give up hope completely: there were a couple of hundred of us at the '09 Conclave! If I lived in NY, I'd be there like a shot! BTW, if there's any help you need from me in London, just ask.

Formerly, 6.8 miles from Coney

Then, i moved upstate NY

So now, 172 miles from Coney; otherwise, I too would be there

All that said, I'm somewhat of a cynic, and i don't foresee 150 - 180 people showing up without getting paid, or at least the enticement of a good meal!

Being in the central of England, I can't be of much help to you on this project. Every time i've got the ball rolling for a trip to NY, the other people back out, leaving me with too much costs to cover.

For a project like this, you need to rely on local advertisment. There's still a lot of fans in NY, judging by other events held.
Unfortunatly, this forum is a shadow of it's former self.

I wish you the best for your film endeavor, personally.
I live in California, and work a fairly demanding job. I
havn't had any kind of a real vacation in quite awhile!

I would go with 9th's suggestion for local advertising.
Also, as Cochese stated, I wouldn't take the lack of
response personally. That's just the way it is here, more
or less (as of late, imho).

Your project sounds monumental (in terms of logistics alone).
Good luck with your dream!

BTW, if it's OK to give at the info at this point, does
your film have a title?

Hey Sub Urban Warlord. Yes the film will be called The Warriors Youngbloods.

Also thanks everyone for the responses , I appreciate the input. Craft services is about all we can promise here. Like I said this is totally non profit.

The story however does involve Luther and Cochise. I am unable to contacy either actor to see what money it would require for them to be in this. I also have an alternate story which involves a roughed up but still alive Cleon. I'm trying to get in contact with Dorsey Wright through a friend but no luck as of yet. I would love to have back some of the original characters to give the story more weight, but at this point it is very unlikely. Micheal Beck would be impossible to retain, and probably wont fly out here from Texas just to make a fan film.

Even without them this will be made, somehow, someway.

I wouldn't bet on it. He's not exactly rushed off his feet these days ;)

Anyway, don't give up hope, my friend. Check these-out! http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=The+Wa ... CBgQqwQwAA If these guys can pull together this many people for a glorified screening of the film in London of all places! Then you should be able to pull-off a similar stunt in NY!

Seriously, you would have a much better shot of hiring Michael Beck's services
than David Patrick Kelly's! I am not knocking MB either, cuz Swan is probably
my favorite Warrior.

For sure tho, I would think neither of them would work for no bone$. You just
never know tho.

Yea id be there for moral support but that's about all. Its just too far to go for me.

By the description the idea is there but you aren't seeing the forest threw the trees. The project you want to do is major. You'll need more then a few hundred people to make it work.

But good luck in your endeaver

As far as retianing any of the mentioned actors, raising the money would be no problem. It's the getting in touch with problem that I'm havine.

This is a very serious project, and it will happen, I'm just sorry that this forum turned out to be a complete and utter joke. I am met with sarcasm and stupid comments. I have a vision that goes well beyond seeing past the trees, and the numbers will come, just not from here. Wow England has more fans of this movie than America? Whoda thought this possible? :o

Craft services , food, grub. taking care of the people that show up with food and drinks. Where I come from this along with making, and being a part of somethiong great is all worth the while. As with most forums, it's no place to look foe help of any kind, And it's really sad that nobody does things unless there is a paycheck involved. Right down the line from over paid atheleats who only play a game for money not because they love it. To the regular guy. That is why this world is the way it is.

This will get done.

Than ks for your time.

I have to say I am disappointed. Mr Turnbull was supposed to send me that buckle a LOOONG TIME ago.

On the note of the film, PM me as I would love to be a part of it and help any way possible.
