Listening to radio last night...

Hey guys
I was listening to the radio last night when I was in bed and a so called "movie expert" was discussing current releases. Techno rockers "The Prodigy" were also there and were previously talking about their current events.
The DJ asked the Prodigy what their fave films were and one of them (don't know which) said the original Dawn of the Dead and then said "The Warriors".
The so called "film critic" or whatever the hell he was had never heard of it!!!!!!
I was so annoyed I nearly fell out of bed. Apparently this guy works for The Times or The Telegraph (one of the broadsheets anyway) and he has no idea about one of the most influential cult films of all time! No doubt he gets paid a shed load of money as well!
Sheeesh! He had no idea what The Warriors is but gave "The Break Up" thats just been released on DVD 9 stars out of ten. Bravo! *slow claps sarcastically*
Film critics suck
Thanks for listening to my rant  :D

What?
My new house mate hasn't heard of the Warriors, but he's weird.
A film critic has no excuse!

I know!
It made me really mad because before he did his critique the DJ introduced him like he was some kind of !film god!
Did anyone else hear it? I think it was Radio 5 (uk)

Was the film critic twelve years old?  Otherwise, there is no excuse for not knowing The Warriors.  Then again, anyone who would give nine out of ten stars to The Break Up probably wouldn't get the Warriors anyway.

It would actually surprise you how many people have never seen the film

The only film critics that've never heard of THE WARRIORS are two kinds:

(1) Young Kids

or

(2) Pretentious East Coast craps that deserve to be trashed.

thats crazy! but there are people who have never heard of it...and maybe i don't fall out of bed like you did (LOL) but i feel a tear coming out when I hear someone say: Warriors? whats that?...but I think that even 12 year old kids know about it...i can't say all but some...as for 53 years old and never seen the movie...well that person has no excuse unless he was living in an underground shelter or in the mountains

and thats no "film god" if he's never heard of The Warriors...he needs to be shot in the foot!

i would have fallen too... then again, i'm 18 and had never heard of The Warriors before my dude showed it to me this past august... there's been a few people that i've talked to who were a little older who never heard of it (like my mom...) but someone who's in the movie business should at least know about it...

everyone should know about it...

and i would be glad to shoot this man in the foot.. lol

Yes, believe it or not, there is a lot of people who grew up in the 70's who never heard of it.  I am young to, and heard, as well as very much appreciate  the movie.  I guess its just something they do not prefer, regardless, although I am young, I am religiously thankful for the 70's culture.

As much as I hate it when people haven't heard of the Warriors, in a way it f is a good feeling, because then I can convert them.  They usually enjoy the movie a lot when they see it.

Hey spiritoradio it happens the same with me.
Here in Portugal the movie is just unknown. Never aired on T.V., can't rent it anywhere and I was incredibly lucky to find ONE DVD copy in a dark hidden shelf of a specialized shop.
I'm a member of my college movie group and my colleagues hadn't even heard of The Warriors before I mentioned it in a meeting. And I'm talkin of people with knowledge of nouvelle vague films from the 50s.

It's almost a mission to spread the word bros!
