Yo.

I recently watched the warriors on recommendation from my military history teacher; he said that, even though it really had nothing to do with it, it was modeled after Cunaxa and I should check it out. I ended up thinking this movie was the most amazing, kick-butt thing I'd ever seen. So officially, I'm obsessed with it and I'm trying to spread the love amongst my friends and classmated; it's kinda cool.

I think the Warriors is amazing because:

-orchestration; the actual mobilization of so many gangs and fight scenes must've been brutal, props to Hill
-creativity; the numerous gang types and the story line are ingenious to me
-costumes; the baseball furies=the way I wished I looked every day.

My favorite warrior is kind of hard to pick, but I really like Ajax (besides his rapist tendencies) and Rembrandt, not only because he's pretty, but also because he brings a sensitive element to the Warriors.

Despite myself, I kind of like Luther. Because he cracks me up and his voice is funny.

In fact, the only person I don't like is Mercy; I'm not sure why I don't like her, she just irritates me. And her eyeliner raccoon eyes bother me a little, even though I know it's supposed to be part of her look

So awesome. Happy to be here posting with the best of the best (since anyone who likes this movie must be BRILLIANT.)

Hailing from Tejas,
Mac

Welcome to the forum!

Great post.  What a terrific History teacher - suggesting to watch The Warriors as part of his class assignment.

Here's the WikiPedia link to the Battle of Cunaxa:

There are some similarities.

Its good to see that you have a love and understanding for the historical background behind thw warriors.  After all. inevitably history manages to repeat itself in a new evolutionary form.  Enjoy your stay.
