Frank Miller comics

Post by Hector »

I searched, but couldn't find anything specifically about this. So, if i'm doing the wrong thing, please let me know.

Anyway, is anyone a fan of Frank Miller's comics? Such as 300, or Sin City, perhaps? I myself am a big fan of the Sin City series, but I only own one of the volumes. At home I've got 'The Big Fat Kill', one of the stories that was also included in the Sin City movie, involving the character, Dwight McCarthy. Has anyone else read this? Also, I stopped by my local comic shop, and the owner gave me permission to flick through the '300' comic, which was also the basis of a movie.

Self confessed comic book geek right here, I love anything Frank Miller has written, didn't so much like the film of 300 but the comic is awesome, and I loved all the Sin City comics and own all of them if you like the Dwight character check out "A dame to kill for" it features Dwight and Marv both as main characters and you see Dwight's real face.

I totally dug frank millers, "The Dark Knight Returns."  It was about an old batman in the future and how he makes a come back.

The one thing I admire about Sin City, is that techniqually no one is really "Good".  They are more of random anti heroes, and that brings an excellent concept to the stories.  Half of them actually seem like nut cases, and I think that what I like about it.  Its like Frank Miller uses evil, to fight evil.

I disagree slightly, there is one clean soul in Sin City and that is Nancy, she does nothing wrong and nothing to harm anyone, but everyone else is pretty much half-bad half-good.

I agree strongly. I mean just look at Marv. Several times in the book and the movie, he talks about how he might turn into a psycopath. Miho, is a chick with a bunch of blades and excellent skill. She uses this against poor sods who might have pushed accidentally too hard when asking for a woman. She then cuts into them, their last view of life being a limb torn off. Basically, what I'm saying is this, no one in Sin City is classified as "Good". All of them have atleast commited a crime in their life.
