I managed to see the last 20 minutes of Drunken Master during my tea break at work. First time I had seen it with the english dub (I always watch the cantonese soundtrack version). The dub makes it more of a comedy.

The superimposed face of bruce lee on the actor in game of death always amuses me (the part near the begining where the guy with the switchblade cane taps "bruce" on the shoulder with it).

If this is your type of thing, check out a dvd label called Hong Kong Legends. There should be quite a few cheap on ebay. All the print is remastered and theres some good commentaries from Bey Logan.

I think the OTT dubs make the Kung-Fu movies better, if a character is a little bit of a weasel they make sure you know it, by giving him the whiny, weaseliest voiceover ever, which also makes it funnier.

It's funny watching Game Of Death now, because as a kid i never realised it wasn't Bruce Lee, it wasn't until i was about 12 i realised it was a different person.

My copy of Way Of The Dragon is on the Hong Kong Legends label, my favorite Bruce Lee movie.

Pick up the 2 disc version of Game of Death. It's got the full pagoda scene as an extra feature that was cut from the 78 version. It's worth the price just for the Dan Inosanto stick fighting scene and Bruce vs the Judo master. The Kareem Abdul Jabaar fight ends differently as well.

I think theres a Hong Kong Legends, Bruce Lee, 30th anniversary boxset. saw one for sale in my local cash converter but the box was a bit wragged.

It's harder than i thought to get time to watch a film a day, what with sleeping, working, eating, drinking, riding, running, socialising, gaming, and PIZZAing.
in that case, just aim for a passing grade - what is that for you people, 65 - 70%?
I've always been an under achiever, so i'd put my pass rate at 40%.

at 50.1%... PASS!

Watched the Fighter. Theres not much boxing in it. Nearest film I can compare it to is the Wrestler. Not a bad film, but the women that play his sisters are scary. They make the Lizzies look like playboy models.

Did you go to the cinema or get a copy? I've been looking for a good copy but can't find one.

I got a screener (as i'm a secret academy awards judge). Decent pi quality. I thought 127 hours is overhyped and a bit boring. My screener of True Grit was very poor quality, but the film was ok. Nothing too spectacular. Megamind was a bit of a let down. It just wasn't funny at any point.

Ahh, i've found a decent enough copy, i'll watch that later. I thought 127 hours looked boring aswell, didn't realise that it had been so hyped up.

After watching the film i downloaded the HBO documentary they were filming, it's called High On Crack Street, that is some F****d up stuff, why are crack heads so funny?

Also on a Warriors related note i watched the Arturo Gatti VS Mickey Ward first fight, in my opinion the best boxing match ever, but i think Arturo Gatti had a tattoo of the Warriors warbird on the top of his right arm.

While on the subject of spotting warriors warbird tattoos in films, Watchmen has been showing on one of the movie channels recently. Look on the forearm of the big fat bald tough guy who gets his arms grinded off in the prison cell door. Its not exact but bears some simularities.
